Brigham, H. E. 2•Ieeka, <br />Bryan Moore, Mrs Elsie r~:oore, George Norris, Jack Oliphant, and <br />Walter Roberson. Visitors present were Mr C'. L. Pitman, City <br />Attorney. <br />The Secretary read the minutes of the ::arch 12, 1962 meeting. <br />l~~r H. E. Meeks made a motion seconded by ~°Jalter Roberson that the <br />minutes be approved. <br />Motion passed. <br />The Secretary read the minutes of the I~:arch 14, 1962 meeting. <br />George Norris Wade a motion that the minutes be approved. <br />T~otion passed. <br />T~ir. Pitmsn the City Attorney was present to discuss the need for <br />zoning the rECently annexed porion of the City of Le Porte. He <br />suggested that the area be zoned for development of Industry trhich <br />eras the current trend in its development. Considerable discussion <br />• followed. <br />Ewell A. Brigham madam a motion seconded by H. E. I+~eeks that; The <br />L'a Porte Planning and Zoning Commission recommend to the La Porte <br />City Commission that a new District to be known as "~" Industrial <br />be designated. " <br />Motion passed. <br />Walter Roberson made a motion seconded by Jack Oliphant that: The <br />La Porte Planning and Zoning Commission recommend to the La Porte <br />City Commission that the follo~,ring area be zoned "F" Industrial; <br />Beginning at r°_organs Point and La Porte City Limit on the East; <br />Thence West along the railroad tracks to State Highway 225; <br />Thence West along Ste.te Hight,~ay 225 to St~~te Hight~rey i 34 <br />(also known as Battleground Road) <br />Thence North along State Highway 134 to Houston City I;imits; <br />Thence East and South along the Houston City Limits to the <br />place of beginning: <br />Motion passed. <br />Evrell A.Erigham made a notion seconded by V~alter Roberson thGt; <br />The La Porte Flanning and Zoning Commission recommend to the La Porte <br />City Commission that the regulations for "F" Industrial District <br />• be; All buildings in "F" Industrial District shall be aonstructed <br />of materials peculiar to the nature of their business and operations <br />and Building Permits shall be issued by the City Secretary upon <br />application to the Cit~T of La Porte, Texas. <br />i~_otion passed <br />
