A <br />C~ <br />LA PORTS PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION <br />MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 21, 1988 <br />Chairman Doug Latimer called the meeting to order at 7:03 P.M. <br />Members Present: Commissioners Jack Gresham, Janet Graves, Inge <br />Browder, Bobby Blackwell, and Charles Boyle <br />Members Absent: Lola Phillips <br />City Staff Present: Joel H. Albrecht, Director of community <br />Development; Ervin J. Griffith, Building Official/Zoning <br />Administrator; Nina Dye, Inspection Secretary, John Armstrong, <br />Assistant City Attorney; John Joerns, Assistant City Manager <br />Others Present: Two (2) interested citizens <br />First item on the agenda was to consider approving the minutes of the <br />r1arch 17, 1988 Public Hearing and Regular Meeting. There was a motion <br />by Inge Browder and a second by Janet Graves to approve the minutes as <br />read. The vote was unanimous and the motion carried. <br />There was a motion by Charles Boyle and a second by Jack Greshem to <br />approve a report to go to City Council regarding the replacement of <br />the Official Zoning Map. The vote was unanimous and the motion <br />carried. <br />There was much discussion on zoning requirements on the combination of <br />Labor or Manpower Pools with a Dormitory that are pre-existing and <br />future uses, such as parking, loitering and excessive noise. Staff <br />asked the Commission Members if they thought there was something they <br />could suggest to alleviate the situation in the future. The <br />Commission asked that Staff and well as themselves have more time to <br />research this item. <br />The following items were prioritized as to be discussed at future <br />meeting: (A) Development Ordinance and Public Criteria Manual; (B) <br />Comprehensive Sign Ordinance; (C) (Tenative) Potential Annexation; (D) <br />Participation. with the development of the Mini Master Plan for <br />Bayfront; (E) Main Street Development; and (F) Joint Workshop with <br />• City Council and Planning & Zoning. <br />The next meeting was scheduled for May 19, 1988 to discuss the <br />Developement Ordinance. <br />
