<br />MINUTES <br /> <br />OF THE <br /> <br />LA PORTE ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br /> <br />JUNE 26, 1982 <br /> <br />1. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Sidney Grant <br />at 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Members of the Board Present: Sidney Grant, Linda Mains, <br />John Albanese, Bill Thompson <br /> <br />Others Present: Dwight Hemphill, Scott Fleming <br /> <br />2. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of the La Porte Zoning <br />Board of Adjustment held May 27, 1982, were considered for <br />approval. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Albanese and seconded by Thompson to <br />approve the minutes as presented. The motion carried, 4 ayes <br />and 0 nays. <br /> <br />3. The Board considered a request for variance to the required <br />side building line as set forth by the Zoning Ordinance <br />No. 780, page 18, Section 13-204(2): <br />"Side yard: The minimum side yard shall be five (5) feet <br />or ten percent of the lot, whichever is greater; however, <br />lots less than fifty (50) feet in width shall provide a <br />minimum side yard of three (3) feet, except that on corner <br />lots, the side yard on the side street side shall be a mini- <br />mum of five (5) feet. An accessory building in a rear yard <br />shall not be closer than three (3) feet to a side lot line <br /> <br />The request comes from Dwight Hemphill and Scott Fleming, <br />412 Westminister, League City, Texas. <br /> <br />Hemphill and Fleming reviewed the project they ahve under- <br />taken. The house they propose to move to Block 202, Lots <br />12 and 13 on Virginia Street has been inspected and approved <br />by the Code Enforcement Department. The lots have been <br />surveyed by Carlos Smith survey crew. They discussed the <br />surrounding neighborhood. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Bill Thompson, seconded by John Albanese, <br />to grant a 1 foot variance for each side of the house to be <br />moved onto Block 202, lots 12 and 13 on Virginia Street, making <br />the side building line 4 feet in this particular instance. <br />The motion carried, 4 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />_c <br />
