SUMMARY
Thegeneral election for the City of La Porte was held jointly with Harris County on
November 3, 2020, and resulted in a runoff for the Councilperson-District 6 race.
The runoff election will be held on December 12, 2020. The City is currently awaiting
an election services contract from Harris County. Should it not be received soon enough
for review for the canvass meeting, the Mayor or Council will need to hold a special
meeting for that item. Harris County has indicated they understand the urgency and will
provide the document as soon as they are able.
RECOMMENDED MOTION
Approve an agreement with Harris County to provide election services for the
runoff election.
