HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-04-12 Civil Service Commission MeetingNotice of Meeting of the City of La Porte Civil Service Commission Notice is hereby given of a meeting of the Civil Service Commission to be held on April 4, 2012 at 3:00 PM, at the La Porte Police Department in the Training Room, 3001 N. 23`d St, La Porte, Texas, regarding the items according to the agenda below: 1. Call to Order 2. Consider approval of minutes from February 1, 2012 meeting 3. Receive 2011 LPPD Activity Report from Chief of Police 4. Administrative Reports 5. Board Comments — Matters appearing on the agenda; Recognition of community members, city employees, and upcoming events; Inquiry of staff regarding specific factual information or existing policy S. Adjournment In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, the City of La Porte City will provide for reasonable accommodations for persons attending public meetings. To better serve attendees, requests should be received 24 hours prior to the meeting. Please contact Patrice Fogarty, City Secretary, at 281.470.5019. CERTIFICATION I certify that a copy of the April 1, 2012 agenda of items to be considered by the Civil Service Commission was posted on the City Hall bulletin board on March 20, 2012. Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 3:02 pm by Keith Trainer 2. Consider approval of minutes from November 22, 2010 meeting Les made a motion to approve the minutes as presented, Keith seconded; the motion carried. 3. Consider action to appoint the Chairman and Vice -Chairman of the Civil Service Commission Keith nominated Les Bird to be reappointed as the Civil Service Vice -Chairman, Les nominated Keith Trainer to be reappointed as the Civil Service Chairman. Motion passed. 4. Administrative Reports None 5. Board Comments — Matters appearing on the agenda; Recognition of community members, city employees, and upcoming events; Inquiry of staff regarding specific factual information or existing policy Les and Keith made mention of how much value they thought the Lateral Entry program brought to the City and the department. 6.
