This is our request that you place the following property on the
agenda for the Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting to be held on April
19th, 1984, for consideration of a Special Use Permit as a truck terminal
and a container storage and repair facility. The property, as shown in
pink on the attached plat, is either owned by Eddie V. Gray, Trustee or
is currently under contract for purchase by Eddie V. Gray, Trustee.
Stuart Haynsworth is the General Managing Partner for LaPorte. 81, LTD.,
who is the Seller in the contract for the portion of Blocks 1177 and 1178
and Blocks 1201 and 1202 as shown in orange on the attached plat.
All of these properties included in this requested permit are now
zoned Industrial. The proposed use of these properties is for a truck
terminal operation and for a container storage and maintenance facility.
These uses are compatible with the surrounding property uses, which have
all been developed as industrial uses. Please contact me at the above
address to confirm that Eddie V. Gray, Trustee is on the agenda for the
April 19, 1984 Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting.

Dear Mr. Gray,
The City has reviewed your initial request for a Special Use
Permit from the Zoning Board of Adjustments. In order for the
staff to make an adequate recommendation to the Board the Zoning
ordinance requires the following information:
(1) Submittal of plans, in sufficient detail to determine
the proposed use of the entire premises as well as all
buildings and .structures, to the zoning administrator.
(2) The plans must include a certified site plan as per
City of La Porte requirements.
(3) Information will be needed to determine that the
use will not adversely affect traffic, public utilities,
public health, public safety, and the general welfare
of the public.
(4) Information will be needed to determine that the
granting of the special permit will not adversely affect
the character and appropriate use of the area in which
it is proposed to locate.
C5) This information must be received as soon as possible
to allow adequate time for staff review. Due to time
limitations this review cannot be completed prior to
the Board meeting of April 19th, 1984.
