Building Codes Ad Hoc Committee
Minutes of January 28,2004
Members Present:
Tommy Moser, Tom Campbell, Tom Stringer, Stanley Briers, Ron Holt, Mike
Clausen, Bill White, Robert Ortiz, Carlos Smith and Ed Y ung
Members Absent:

Interim Planning Director Nick Finan, Chief Building Official Debbie Wilmore,
Inspection Services Coordinator Sherry Jennings
1. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Mike Clausen called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
2. CONSIDER APPROVING MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON JANUARY 21, 2004.
Motion made by Mr. Briers to approve the minutes of January 21,2004. Second by Mr. Campbell.
The motion carried.
3. FINAL REVIEW OF THE CONSTRUCTION CODES PRESENTATION OF
RECOMMENDATION TO CITY COUNCIL ON FEBRUARY 9, 2004.
The committee received copies of the proposed presentation of recommendation from Chairman
Clausen. He requested they review the document and discuss any changes or questions. After
discussion, Mr. Clausen noted the committee's recommended changes on his draft copy. Mr.
Campbell made a motion to accept the presentation with the changes discussed. Second by Mr.
Moser. The motion carried.
4. FINAL REVIEW OF THE CODES APPEAL BOARD PRESENTATION OF
RECOMMENDATION TO CITY COUNCIL ON FEBRUARY 9, 2004
Chairman Clausen provided the committee with copies of the proposed presentation of
recommendation. He asked that they review the document for any changes or questions. Following
questions and discussion, Mr. Clausen noted the recommended changes on his draft copy.
Mr. Smith had to leave early but asked that his vote be recorded as a "no" vote. Mr. Briers made a
motion to present the recommendation as amended. Second by Tommy Moser. The motion carried.
Mr. White ask that it be noted that he had objection to parts of the presentation.

5. ADJOURN
Before adjourning, Mr. Briers presented Sherry Jennings with a commemorative 911 print. He
wanted to express his appreciation and felt she went "above and beyond the call of duty" for the Ad
Hoc Committee Meetings.
Chairman Clausen and the members ofthe committee added their "thank you" for all the help and
assistance they received from all committee members.
Motion to adjourn at 8:35 P.M.
