Attendees: Clark Askins 172 Board Member Karen Beerman 172 Board Member Buddy Jacobs 172 Board Member Pat Rothermel 172 Board Member George Van Dyke 172 Board Member Robert Swanagan Staff Representative Absent: Michael Dolby 172 Board Member Tina Fregia 172 Board Member Guest: Neal Welch, Consultant Hilb Rogal & Hobbs Marlene Rigby, City of La Porte Employee Randy Cernosek, City of La Porte Employee Michael Hovendick, City of La Porte Employee Melissa Lanclos from the City Manager's Office administered the oath of office to Mr. George Van Dyke Alternate Citizen member of the 172 Board. Neal Welch, consultant for Hilb Rogal & Hobbs made a presentation to 172 Board Members present regarding issues, concerns and questions raised by City Council at the June 7, 2006 City Council Meeting. Board members received information regarding different potential solution scenarios so that recommendations could be made by the 172 Board Members to City Council. Board members agreed to review all of the information handed out and discussed by Neal, as they considered possible options they will offer to City Council. Another meeting will be scheduled for next week, possibly Thursday, August 10, 2006. At that meeting the 172 members will finalize recommendations for presentation to City Council at the August 14, 2006 meeting. Robert Swanagan reminded members present of the need to finalize the Mission Statement. Two draft Missions Statements were provided to 172 members previously and he will send copies of the draft Mission Statements with the 7-31-06 meeting minutes. The meeting was adjourned at 7:00 pm.
