Notice is hereby given of a regular meeting of the Chapter 172 Employee Retiree Insurance and
Benefits Board to be held on August 5, 2010 at 5:30 PM, in the Police Department Training
Room, 3001 N. 23rd St., La Porte, Texas, regarding the items according to the agenda below:
1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 5:39 pm
2. Consider approval of minutes from July 13,2010 meeting
Clark made a motion to approve the minutes as presented, Martha seconded, the motion
passed.
3. Receive initial report from Willis of Texas, Inc. on the results of the Request for
Proposals for the City's Medical Benefits.
Received report on Request for Proposals from Lesley Hagen with Willis of Texas, the City's
Benefits Consultant. The Committee agreed to narrow the carriers down to three, Texas
Municipal League, Aetna and Cigna. Lesley stated she was going to request Best and Final
Offers from those three carriers. She would also ask Aetna to allow the other carriers to
process exact claims processed by Aetna so the Committee would be able to compare actual
discounts.
4. Discuss Medical Costs for 2011
There were no questions or discussions
5. Administrative Reports
None
6. Board Comments

b. Inquiry of staff regarding specific factual information or existing policy
Aaron mentioned that Aetna had the greatest number of providers and that information
should be considered.
7. Adjournment
The Meeting was adjourned at 6:17 pm

participate in discussion at this meeting, however, they will not vote on matters.
