asked that money be ap1~ropriated to carry out a badly needed.

Alderman Sandel offered a motion seconded by Alderman Ruff that
the city set aside ;;100,00 to be used for tn.is purpose under tune
direction of the Fire Prevntion Board.
Carried.
Alderman 5Va11 offered a motion seconded by Alderman Ruff that
th.e city sewer inspector be paid X1,00 for each se~^~or inspection
except where t~iere is inspection of new plumbing in which case
the p7_tzmbi ng inspection fee as provided by the °1L?iilb? ng Ordinance
~' shall be his only fee.

A RESOLUTION
BE zT RESOD;
_ That,ee:~ective i-r~mediately on the date of the
adopption of this resolution, that everyy employee of the city
of La Porte,Texas whether he be a day loborer or a contract
laborer, who is obligated to the City of La Porte for delin-
quent taxes, water rent or past due accounts of any ch~uahter,
shall be required to contribute not less than oz~ third of
of such amount dues'~iisaid city ~,~~::~r~~~t~r- to apply on
their past due obligation .

That this resolution be publisn.ed in one
issue of the La Porte News and such publication shall serve
as a ~~~~;~~ public notice.

meeting in the City Hall on the 26th. day of October,l931.

A REgOLUTIOIJ
BE IT RESOLVED:.
~~~~
That eff ective immediately on the date of the
adoption of this resolution, that 50 feetilinear will
constitute the maxiimun length of water pipe that the city
will lay for the purpose of extending water service to any
individual consumer. Provided, however, that should a greater
nwnber of feet of water line ~l'~~~~: be required, that the
consumer applying for the water service shall deposit with
the City Secretary a sufficient amount in cash to cover the
cost of all pipe,and labor of laying said pipe,in the excess
of maximum above-mentioned. Provided, however, that the City shall
credit the amount deposited by the water consumer to the credit -
of said consumer and that fifty cents shall be deducted from
said consumers water .rent each month and. applied to his deposit
accou~st until the amount originally deposited shall be entirely
repaird..
This resolution was adopted by a unanimous vote of the City
Council at their regular meeting in the City Ha11, La Porte,
Texas, this, the 26th. day of October,l931
