The f ollowir~ aldermen were preaQnt : Fred Ruff, Geo. Sharp and Geo. Counts. The following bills were approved and ordered paid: Langham & N;aillot y;16.7?; News Publis~aing Co. ~y8.50; News Publishing Co. ~p19.?5; Texas Co. X1.23; ~JOrkman & Arthur X6.20. An estimate from Parker r~rothers on ~tih.ich he requested a partial payment was c¢~dered tabled by a motion made by Alderman Counts and seconded by Alderman Ruff . Carried A communication from F.T. Baldwin requesting that tree City re-inburse hirn for water line installed at his expense was referred to the 4°~ater Comrrlittee~ by a motion by Geo. Sharp, seconded by Alderman Counts. Carried A letter from the City Secretary of Goose Creek asking that the city of La Porte eo-operate with them in an effort to get an reduction in electric light and power rates was referred to the Street Lighting Co~~: ittee. Carried A request from A.H. Nagy that the city re-inburse him for 870 t't. of 3~4 in. water line laid at his rnvn expense in. the alley south of main st. frog 8th street to his property on Main and 10th was referred to the `J~ater Committee for. checY.ing foot age and report, back t o the council. 741derman Counts offered a motion, seci~nded by Alderman Ruff that the request of H.J. Burke and Callie Gebert for. the city to furnish approximately 20 Cu.Yds. of gravel to be placed on Lobitt St. north fr~~m Park Ave. the haulir~r, to be done at their expense. Carried The City Secretary was instructed to write the $~~van Eeach Bo. in answer to their request that the City repair the street in front of the Park Entrance, advising them that the street in question was a Cou my maintained street and suggesting that they get in touc'n with the you my Comr~,ission- • ere.
