Meeting was called to order by Mayor A N Mc .Kay. Minutes
of the previous meeting vrere read and approved.
The following members of the council were present.
Fred R Ruff, Geo Counts, Ueo. H warp and L C Lawrence.
The following bills were approved and ordered paid.

By a motion offered by Ald. Ruff and Seconded by Ald.
Counts the finance committee was instructed to investigate
the necessary steps to take looking to liscencirg the sale 'of
beer in La Porte.
Carried
By a motion offered .by Alderman Ruff and seconded by
Alderman Counts the finance corrunittee was instructed to in-
_ vestigate a report from, the Tax Equalization Board that the
~~~~ "Tradewell Stores" of La Porte was not paying taxes on their
stock and fixtures although they had been duly notified to do ~
so. The Committee was given power/to act in the matter.
Carried
Alderman Sharp offered a motion seconded by Alderman Counts
that the Street and Bridge Committee investigate the cities
right to require property ownaers to cut the grass and weeds
on vacant property within the city limits, and the best
method to pursue in enforcing the ordinance. The committee
was given power t o act .
Carried.
No further business to come before the council ad3ournment
was taken by a unanimous vote of the council.'
