A new street lighting contract with the rIouston Lighting and Po~~rer Co. eras presented to the council and up-on ti~otion by Ald. hgee which was seconded by Aldo Sharp the contract Vras accepted u~r a unaniii~ous vote of the Council and -the i+,.ayor and City Secty. was authorized to .execute same. Carried. A lease of the vrater lines belor~ing to certain residen- ces of the -Sylvan 'death Addition,to the City of La Porte9 was offered to the council for their consic;eration. kld. Ludley petitionirg the council to arapndl the present rule requiring the owner of tti^vo or rr;ore ~zouses that vrere ;~ served water through only one i~~eter,to pay a rrinir:aun of Cpl 50 per month for each house being so served,to ir~ake only one minimum charge of y~l 50 per month where service for all houses otivned by him tivas through the same r:~eter. v Alderman Sharp offered a motion seconded by ~~ld.
