The following members of the council were present. Aldermen Counts, ogee d bTolton, Roark and Boyle. ,. e l~:inutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The following bills were presented and ordered paid. Jno. S Kiibler,•:~28.05. Harby Lyons and King,~p5U.00. News Tribune, X19.50. P6agnolia Service Station, X12.65. Zners i~eing no unfinished business the Council proceeded to the subject of New business. By a mition by Ald. Counts and a second by Ald. Holton the City N~arshal was instructed to notify the ov~rner of the "Speakeasy" on No. Blackwell Ave. that unless the disturbance be stopped their place would be padlocked. Carried . By a motion by Ald. Counts and a second by Ald. Holton the ~~iayor was instructed to appoint a committee to ~~` contact J Yerry N.oore and ascertain the necessary steps y~ to be. taken to put our P Vrd A project before the proper authority and in the proper form. Carried . The itaayor appointed Ald. Counts and Ald. Boyle on this committee. Ald. Counts offered a motion which was~s'econded by Ald. Agee that the Secs y. be instructed to write the proper authorities in the Eayshore Park area that it would be necessary f'or them to dedicate the streets and alleys in that area to the city of La Porte before any steps could be taken b~ the City to care f. or the streets. Carried. Ald. Holton offered a motion which was seconded by Ald. Boyle that a culvert be installed across Sou. B street at Sou. Fourth and declared it an emer€;ency. Carried. Qn motion by Ald. Boyle and second by Ald. Holton the City Council appropriated ~p35.00 to the La Porte Volunteer. Fire Dept. for expenses of a member to the ,~,. Anual Firemens Conventi on to be held at EI Paso on ~'~'' June 11,12, 13 and 14th. This amount to be charged against the 1935 ,Budget. Carried. Pale `lwo. • ~.lderraan ~~olt on offered a gild.
