All members of the council answered to roll call. There bei~~g no unfinished business to transact the council proceeded to new business. By a motion by Ald. Holton and second by Ald. Roark the city attorney was instructed to notify all residents' of La Forte that are maintaining dry toilets that in compliance with the City (~'dinance ~-2~T~ any one within 100 feet of a city sewer main would be required to do away with their dry toi:lets~ immediately after January 1-1936. Carried. ~ motion by A1d. rIolton and. second by Ald. Roark the water Dept. was instructed to rebate R H I~`,illers water account for October reducing the charge from :6.50 to y~1.50. Carried. On motion by Ald. Holton and second by Ald. Roark the council went on reccord as approving the graveling of the foJ.lowing '~ streets after which all street work9 would be suspended except - in case of an emergency. Fifth street, three blocks north from Rain Street. G street, two blocks east from San Jacinto. D street from fifth. to sixth. Carried . The ,budget committee submitted amendment ~ 2 to the 1935 budget which was approved by the council by motion by Ald. Counts and second by Ald. Holton. 6~. motion by Ald. Counts and second by Ald. Holton the council gave La Porte citizens the privilege of taking gravel. off of north end of the cities gravel concession foe us on city streets only Carried. On motion by Ald. tIolton and second by Ald. Foyle the council approved the appointment by the Mayor of the follovrir~g men to serve as special officers on Halloween nighty at X3.00 each. L E twin, C G Ha,ilton, E E Hesston and J F De Lawder. Alderman Counts asked the council to approve his act in borrow- ing a street grader from hr. Browning so that he would not come in for criticism in case of needed repairs. ~.e approval was granted by a motion by Ald. Boyle and second by Ald. .Holton. ~~' Alderman Agee offered a motion which was seconded by Ald. Holton that .the city purchace two 8 ply-32 X 6 tires and two heavy duty tubes for the Cities truck.
