The Sec' y. was instructed to turn over to b~ire Chief Isensee a Vdarrant for X100.00 on December fourth. This amount was appropriated by the Council for use by the Fire Dept. in awarding prizes for attendance and effective work by the members. Ey a moti on by Ald . Counts and second by Ald . Boyle th e ':~~ City Sec' y. was instructed to make the raise in salary allowed to Nss. Nt 0 Lambly, retroactive to April 1-1935. Carried. Ey a motion by Ald. Boyle and second by Ald. Ages the City Secs y. vuas instructed to carry a notice in the local paper notifying the public that it is required that before installing a culvert in a street ditch at private drives or walks a permit must be obtained at the office of City Seery. and culvert installed in accordance with City requirements. Carried. On motion by Ald•, Counts and second by Ald. Ages the Council approved the appointment of C G Sullivan as Foreman on the `aV P A work at a salary of forty cents per hour said service to terminate at~the option of the Council. Carried On motion by Ald. Counts and second by Ald. Agee the City attorney was instructed to draft an Ordinance regulating the sale of liquorssand~.beer'..in La Porte and submit it to the Council at a recessed meeting to be called by the N~ayor. Carried. ! ~~ On motion by Ald. Counts and second by Ald. Agee Ordinance • ri~-2.~ providing for the assessment and collecting of 1935 City Taxes, was adopted: Carried. ~~ I Page Two. Alderman Boyle offered a motion which was seconded by _ Alderman Agee that L E Erwin be appointed to the office of Plumbing inspector without fee except when called upon ,~ t o make an inspection when not on regular duty with the city in which case he would receive X1.00 for each inspection. On motion by Ald. Agee and second by Ald. Counts the City Attorney was instructed to file suit for delinquent tames on lots 1 and 2 block 26 bayfront~ said property being assessed to Elmer E 1~lebb. Array mm by a ma jority consent of the Council the City Sec' y., was instructed to pay ~p5.1.5 to the Sou. B~astern Bell ~'el. Co. which amount was tabled for investigation as to who was responsible for the calls. Reconvened by call of ,z yor December Two 1935 For the purpose of adopting an ordinance controllir~ the sale of liquor in La Porte. All members of the council ~Frere present except Ald. Holton. The City Sec' y. read the Ordinance which by action of the council placed the minimum fine for violation of the (?rd- inance at X25.00. The Ordinance to be known as CA"d. ~ 254. The ordinance eras adopted, Ald. Agee moving to adopt and Ald. Counts seconding the motion. By motion by A~.d.
