LA PORTS CITY COUivCIL
APRIL 27th , 1936

Meeting was called to~ order by Mayor Sharp with the following
Councilmen present: C.N.. Agee, J. J.Roark, Geo. Holton, F. R.Boyle,
Fred R. Ruff .
N;inutes of the last regi~3ar and two.•spec.ia~:,•meetings were
read and approved as corrected.
Auditors 'aid
l~.otion by ld, Boyle, second by Ald. Holton, that the 3~ouncil
~ accept the" report of Learned and Tapp, ~'udi tors,and that the
City Secretary be authorized to pay this firm as per contract
of ~~150.00, payment to be made from the Delinquent Tax hand.

Motion by Ald. Agee, second by Ald. Ruff that t:he Council
adopt the following resolution:
Be it resolved that the City of La Po rte acknowledge receipt
off' a sufficient consideration paid by Otto Emal; and the f,iayor
/ of the City of La Porte and the Cityy Secretary are hereby
authorized to convey to Otto. Ema'1, yots numbered Forty-Seven,
(47) and Forty-'~`' ght (48) in Block numbered Tvrenty-Four (24 )
of Bay Front Add tion to the said Town of La Porte, in Harris
County, Texas releasing and quit-claiming any interest that
the City of La Porte may have in and to said lots purchased
by it at Sherriff~s sale on the 4th day of December, 1923, to
be executed in the name of the Ci ty of La Porte by George H.
Sharp, Mayor, and attested by the City Secretary.", and that
the Ca ty Secretary br instructed to forward a copy of th e

Lots i n block 59
P~.otion by Ald. Agee, second by Ald. Holton, that the itiayor
appoint a committee to get in touch with T.J. Simpson in re-
gard to Lots in Block 59 and report back to the next Coucil
meeting. Carri ed
News-Tribune
l~~otion by Ald Boyle, second by Ald. Roark that the Communication
o~ the News Tribune in regard to Official Newspaper for the City
and bid on same be placed on file. Carri ed
Fire Dept accident- Policy La Porte
Motion by Ald. Boyle, see;ond by Ald. Holton , that/ Volumeer
~'.i.re Dept. Blanket Accident Policy No. V.F.3492 be renewed as
per ~lr A. T • Seammen' s renewal submitted. Carried .
Reports of Committees
Afid. Holton reported on the condition of the dunk yard on the
~i.eppard property, that 14:r j~dm Josserand has the property under
lease and vrill remove the .debris as soon as possible.
Ald. Boyle reported that seventy _Etve percent of the grass which ,
the Chamber of Commerce requestdd that the Cityn cut for Centennial `~ '
week was mowed ~dnd that the balance will be taketh care of as soon
as possible. -
Ald. Boyle reported that on the matter of State Highway maintenance
through the City that &ity Att orney Kiibler vrrote the State Highway
Dept. in regard to the matter but that no reply has been received,~~
t o date.
Lotion by Ald..: Boyle, second by Ald. holton, that • the City Secretary
be instructed to write a letter to the owners of Kirksey~ s Kosy
Kitchen that the sewer connection to their puce of business
must be completea~ immediately as required by the City Ordiynance.
