Roark that all regular monthly bills be taken up on the first regular meeting of each month. Carried Sewer Job - hew:,bids - _ Potion by .Ald. Boyle, second by Ald. Ruff, that new bids be asked on the Seger job in the Alley betvreen 8th and nth Hts, from So. B. to Plain and that the Sewer Com. be given.povrer to act in the mater. Carried. City Lots- 15 to 18, Block 24, B.F. l''lotion by Ald. Beyle, second by Ald. Roarlc, that the l~layor appoint a com- mittee to arrange vrith the Highway Dept. fora suitable detour for the residents ~i Bayrid.ge and adjacent territory during tho construction v:ork of the Highway Dept. on bridges and hi hwey. Carried. The I~~ayor ap- pointed the members of the Street and ~lley Com. as follows: F.R.Boyle, chairman, J.J.P~oark, C.1~.?.Agee. The committee was given powor to act. P.?eeting Na.s called to order by P3ayor Sharp, the following Aldermen were present, responding to roll calls C.Iv?.Agee, F.R.Boyle, Fred. R.Ruff, J.J.Roark. Report of Com: om Detour A report of the Special Com. appointed by T,?ayor Sharp on arranging with the Highway Dept. for suitable detour for Bayridge residents , was made by the chairman F.R.Boyle to the effect that some of the officials had been contacted who promised that some action would. be taken and that temporarily a man would be placed at the gate to per- mi~s residents passage. Committee was given power to take any action necessary to clear up situation satisfactorily. Bayridge Water Line Report•was made by Ald. Agee that Bayridge residents were desirous of connecting to the City ti~ater-line.- This matter tiva.s left with the ~~Tater Co~mn.ittee• City Secretary ~?oti.on by Ald. Agee, second by Ald. Ruff that the resolution adopted by the City Council at its meeting on June 8th, assigning additional dLities to the City Secretary and providing additional compensation of X10.00 per month, be rescirded• Cartied. The opinion of the C_ty Attorney on the matter was ordered placed. on file. Bridge- City Hall Fire Plug - Chairman of the Street and Alley Com. reported that the bridge ad- jacent to the fire plug; at the City Hall was in need of repair and materiels had been ordered and repairs made. - AIr C.AI.Bond appeared before the Council on the matter of bids for newspaper work in the appointment o~ off icial~newspaper~• for the City of La i'orte, asHng the Council to clarify their position in the appointment. 'The Council ^members stated their position} indi- vidually. Pair Fred Hartman also appeared and stated his position and the position of the Daily Sun in the matter. The City Attorney submitted a written opinion of the City's status in this matter which was placed on file. - - On motion by Ald. Boyle, second by Ald.
