Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved, A letter from the Laboratariea of the Humbl® Baytown Refineries together with a chemical analysis on Well ~1 and Yell ~Z Rai 8u~knuitted to the Council for their inspeotion. Refunding Warrants Called & Int. Paid. l~~otion Hy Ald. Boyle,seaond by Ald. l~oark that the~City Secretary advise the Slavonio Benevol®nt Society of Fayetteville,-Texas that the City 8311 call in City of La Porte Refunding Yuarrant$ ~2 for X162.22 and ~ ~, ~j exid ~$ for X500.00 each, on January lOth,l937 and that the Mayor and City Secretary are instructed and authorized to issue a Retreat payable aft the First National Bank of La Porte, ,. Tee s ;_'iu the sum of X1,662.22 is payment of the above said Yrarrants in the event that~the Slavonia Benevoleirt Society agrees to turn in such narrants, also that the Adayor and City Secretary are instructed and authorized to issue a ~~arrant in the sum of ~93.2I~, for New York rxcshange to the Manufacturers Trust Co, of Ne9r York in payment of the saai~annual interest on City of La Porte°Refunding Y~iar- rants due den lOth,1937. Ruff that the City Secretary be authorized to pay the 3~rterest to "Jsiriuary'1st,193? on Aritiaipating Warrant X1023$ held by Mrs Lillian Nelson in the amount of X75.15 and to reaeror the Anticipating Warrant for ff~ i~erest payable on or before one year from date, payment to be made from the Delinquent Tax Fund. Carried over 2 Deadline Date- Current Taxes Motion by A~d. Boyle, second by ALd. Ruff that the City Attorney prepare a statement for the papers setting the date of February 1,1937 as the definite deadline data for the payment of current taxes and that an ad. to this effect be inserted in the Daily Sun, two coluams, six inches. Carried. Motion by A d. Ruff, second by Ald. Boyle that the City Secretary be authorized to draw a warrant for the necessary amount for the recording of City Tax Title deeds. Carried Seger Franchise payment L Motion by Ald. Boyle, seoond by Ald. Ruff that the City Secretary be authorised to draw a warrant in the sum of X1.00 to the Texas & New Orleans R.R. Far franchise u for sewer line in the City of La P rte. Carried. L.U.Casteel- Sewer line Motion by Ald. Roark, seaond by Ald. Ruff that the City pay L.U.Casteel X10,00, being the difference in the laying of a J~" and a 6" trunk surer line in the alley rumiing west across 9th St. between Main and So, A., ending in Block lib, La Porte, and that the City Secretary be authorized to draw a wsxrant for same. Carried. Unskilled Labor Motion by Ald. Ruff second by Ald, Boyle that the City pay thirty cents per dour for unskilled labor. Carried. Boyle that Ordinance 9, prescribing the rates, fees and charges for water service by the City to consumers inside and outside the corporate limits of La Porte, Texas; providing for monthly ~-ater bills; prescribing the time for the payment thereof; requiring a water service application and contract; providing for discontinuance of water service for failure to pay bills promptly and failure to execute application and contract; repealing ordinances or parts of ordin- ~' anoes in conflict herewith and declaring an emergenoy~ be passed and adopted.
