P.2otion by A1d.Boyle, second by A d. Ruff that this correspondence and 'these reports be placed can file. Carried, W.S.H. Minchen drainage 8c taxes Mr ~,'.S.H. Minehen appeared before the City Council asking for some adjustment to be made on his taxes and for drainage to be taken care of in his vicinity. Mr ~:iinchen agreed to take up the matter of drainage with J.A.H. Tennant if the City would cooperate. _ I~~otion by Ald. Boyle,second by Ald. Agee that the question of W.S.I:. Minchen taxes be referred to the Tax Committee for investigation and to be reported on at the next regular Council meeting. Carried. H.~. Wherley drainage H.B.Wherley appeared before the City Council on the matter of drainage in his vicinity. Motion by A1d. Ruff, second by Ald. Roark that the natter of the drainage of a ditch in front of the Wherley property to the main ditch be turned over to the Street & Alley C~ittee for investigation and with power to act. Carried. Traffic Lights Mr H.J. Pfeiffer introduced to the Council, Mr Northrup of Crouse-Hines Co., and Mr H.L Frazier,Eoustox~_ agent for Graybar Cg. who prese~.ted detailed information on Traffic Lights. Motion by Ald. Ruff, second by Ald. Agee that the matter of purchasing r~~`ic Lights be referred to the Ligr~ting C~iittee to obtain information, specifications and prices and report back to the next regular Council meet- ing for action•Carried• over 2 • • J Shell- Interurban Rigl~of may ` Motion by Ald. Ruff, second by Ald. Roark, that the Street & Alley Cymxnittee be instructed to investigate the shell on the Interurban Sight-af ro~ray, het samples , ~~, and prices on quantities and report back to the next C until meeting. Carried. Audit Bids Motion by Ald.Boyle, second by Ald. Agee, that the City Secretary be instructed to get bids on the annual audit, to b® opened at the next regular meeting. Carried A.S.fiamilton--Report on condition & 6~ wages Motion by A1d.yRuff, second by Ald. Boyle, that the I~':ayor appoint a coam~ittee to meet with Dr A es on ~:.5. Hamilton's injury and condition , get a written report and submit to the next Council meeting; also that A.S. Hamilton be paid 64% of his regular wages of 1~0¢ per hour for 8 hour day, for the working days from Feb- ruary 27th to jdarch 18th, both inclusive. Carried. Mayor Sharp appointed Ald. Roark and ALd. Ruff as the Committee to meet with Dr Aves. Old Plumbing The~City Secratray:q.sked ao be instr~_zc':-ed on the interpretation of the Plumbing Ordinance as regards inspection of old plumbing before hooking it into the sewer. Motion by Ald. Ruff, second by Ald. Agee that instructions on old house plumbing be turned over to the Sever Committee with power to act. Carried. Cancellations Motion by A, d. Ruff, second by Aid. Roark, that Cancellations shown on schedule attached to these mc~nutes, be approved and authorized by the Council and that the City Tax Collector be instructed to show these cancellations on the Tax records. Cert. ~Jo. 8- Taxes assessed to Apfel ~ Brimgs on Lots 15 to 18, Block 2l~, Bay Front, for years 1919 to 1922 inclusive, in the amount of X12.11}. These taxes were included i in costs of $51~..1a1~. paid by T.J. Tapp when he purchased these lots. e Cert. No.9- Taxes assessed to E.E. Browning on truck for years 1935 and 1936 in the amount pf X0.75 per year, total of X1.50. ~r Browning v~-rote that he has not owned a truck here during those twp years. Cert. No. 10 was on adjustment of A.E. Kerr taxes, ordered by Council action October 12,1836. Gerto,~eo. 11- Taaes assessed to C.R. ~ J.C. I~astins on Lots 6 and 7, Block 30, Beach Park Addition, for the year 1927 i.n the amount of X3.75. Thsy hold tax receipt No.17120, dated Dec. 20,1927 covering these taxes and signed by A.T. Sear men. Said tax receipt a~•pears on the cash book as of that date but had not been posted to either the tax roll or the delinquent roll for that year. Cert. No. 12- Taxes assessed to Guardian Trust Co.Exec. of iiugh ~iamilton,Est. on Lots 1 to 6 and 10 to 16, Block 8, La Porte, for the year 1827, in the amount of X7.20. This v+ras a double assessment to Cabeen Blake of Guardian Trust Co. Taxes were paid in the name of Cabeen Blake by Receipt No.17176, dated Jan.1,1928 and signed by A.T. Seamen. Cert. No. 13- Taxes assessed in the 3ia~ae of H.R. Yioes on Lot 13, Block 219, La Porte, this was a double to T.A. llowall, and tax s were paid by him covering the years _1931, 1932, and 1933, in the amount of X3.00 per year. Total amount X9.00. Cert. No.ll.~- Taxes assessed on automobile to ~'.~. Vickers, Jr for the year 1936 in the amount of X1.50. 2~4r Vickers states he does not oven a car but drives a company car.
