Dept The Ivlayor stated that the Council had no juri£diction in the matter but ask- ed that tl~e City Council members consult with the individual members of the Fire Department and find out the facts in the case of the suspension of J.L. Dunham from the La forte Volunteer Fire Department. Potion by Boyle, second by Ruff, that the American La France note for X500.00, datod P~1arc1~ lst,lg37 and due on or before 6 months a~"ter date, plus interest at the rate of ~~ per annum., in the amourt of ~~15.00, be paid from the Delinquent Tax Fund and that the American La France Co. be notified that the note will be paid by 4rarrant direct to them on September 1st,lq~7. P.~fotion by Ruff, second by Roark, that the Couxxcil accept with regret the resignation of lvax Harrison as Assistant Secret:ar;,t and place it on file. Carried. Letter A~_otion by Ruff, second by Benson, that the City Attorney be instructed to write a latter of appreciation and recorrrnendation to Max Harrison for his splondid work in the City Secretar~,,r's office, the letter to be signed by the entire City Council and the City Secretary. Carried. Old Type The City Secretary reported a balance due on the old Typewriter be- Writer longing to the City and sold to Iv'rs N':organ Harris for an agreed price of X15.00. Motion by Ruff, second by Benson, that the City Secretary be instructed to write 1tiGrs Morgan fiarris that the balance of X511.00 on the second hand typewriter which she purchased from the City is peist due and that the Council would like to have the account closed.
