be applied as follows; X600.00 on building a garage to hoiise City
equipment and X600.00 on the Pick up Truck to be pure}lased by the

Corp ~~ The City; Secretary presented the Report of the Corporation Court for

be accepted and placed on file. Carried.
Fire R~ayor Sharp issued a proclamation setting aside the week of Oct.3 to
Prevention 9s 1937 as Tire Prevention Week and calling on all men woman and child-
Week ten of La Porte to cooperate with the fire chief, fire marshal and
eit~T officials in controling loss of life and property by fir® and in
helping to remove all fire hazards.
~Iovey-Bethea The City Secretary read a communication from the Hovey-Bethea Post,
Post No. !428, American Legion.
r4otion by Ruff, second by Boyle, that the letter from the Hovey-Bethea
Post be accepted and placed on file and ttuat the City Secretary be in-
structed to draw a warrant to cover the agreement contained in the let-
ter. Carried.

Letter ~'otion by Boyle, second 3~y Ruff, that a letter go forvrard from the ?~ayor
Sylvan and City Council to the :da.nagement of Sylvan Beach Park complimenting
Beach them on th$ splexidid manner in which they conducted the Park during the
Park season 3ust closed. Carried.
Letter The letter ordered by the Council to be written to Max Harrison on his
Harrison retir®ment as Assistant City Secretary, was read and signed by the mem-
bers of the City Council and others of the City staff.
Bids rROtion by Ruff, second by Boyle, that the Council instruct the ti'Vater Com-
Clean mittee to draw up specifications and get bids on cleaning, painting and
mater Tangy repairing of the mater Tower and Tank. Carried.
