Meeting was called to order by Mayor Sharp, with the following Aldermen responding to roll call: C.T~F. Agee,. F.R. Boyle, J.J. Eoark, Fred R. Ruff. Td?inutes of the l~.st meeting were read an8 approved. League,Texas N!r C.C. Crutchfield, field representative of the League of Texas A5u- ~unicipal- nicipalities, appeared before the Council to discuss the benefits to the City of a membership in the League. Following an interesting dis- t:ember cession a motion was presented by Agee, second by Ruff, that the City of La Porte become a member of the League of Texas Municipalities for the stated sum of X20.00 and that the City Secretary be authorized to draw a warraf~t for that amount and forward to the League Headquarters in Austin, Texas, Carried. Petty Cash Motion by Ruff, second by Boyle, that the Petty Cash be renewed in the amount of ~15,11~. Carried. water TanSr T~"otion by Ruff, second by Roark, that the City accept the ~20.OQ check `TUCK of Harold Kirkpatrick in payment for the old Truck dater Tank from the Fire Department equipment and confirm the bill of sal® given Tutr Kirk- patrick for same by Alderman Boyle. Carried. Firemen's T."-otion by Ruff, second by Boyle, that the City Secretary be authorized Prizes to issue a warrant in favor of the La Porte Volunteer Fire Department in the amount of X100,00 to cover the prizes offered by the City to the Firemen for the year. Carried. yYiring The Spacial Building Committee reported that the contract for the elee- Garage trical wiring of the garage building was awarded to ,,"R.O. Sorenson on his Accepted ~~ bid of X78,60 and that the work has been satisfactorily completed. Motion by Boyle, second by Ruff, that the electric wiring job on the City garage be accepted and that a warrant in the amount of X78.60 be drawn in favor of ~t.0. Sorenson, as per contract. Carried. Check ?~Botion by Boyle, second by Roark, that the Special Building Committee Lumber Bill check the bill for lumber for the garage building submitted by the La Porte Lumber Co. and if found to be correct that the City Secretary be authorized to draw a warrant in payment of same. Carried. over 2 '':.'u~~. Hunt ~~otion by Boyle, second by ??uff, that the t4JO bills submitted by Bill V~l.;~l. Hunt in the amounts of X58.50 and ~l~3.00, respectively, be allowed and that the City Secretary be authorized to drag a war- rant in the amount of X58.50 in favor of Mr Hunt at this time. Carried.
