Ruff. ?viinutes of the last regular and special meetings were read and approved. Bids, ~?otion by Ruff, second by Boyle, that the bids o~3 i~l~ Gleaning and iNater Tank painting the City iNatar Tank and Tower be opened and tabulated. Painting Carried Bids were as follows: Claud Boatr~ht,Contractor: 2 bids; Bid on labor,~375.00, iron work ~,~0' per hourz per man, welding work X1.00 per hour*per man. Bid on labor and material '~500.OO,complete job. A discount of X50.00 on either bid was posted before the bids were opened. Mater Tank Service Co.: 3 bids; Bid. No.1. To furnish all labor and equipment and pa- n~ o~ the Company's choosing, 1 coat inside and i coat outside of T~.nk,~325.00,discounted X25.00. Bid No.2. Fred Fuff reported that the Special Building Co~mnittee Lumber Bill had checked the garage lumber bill of the La Porte Lumber Co. and found the amount of ~1.a.37,i~0 to be correct and that the bill had been paid. Corporation ~' The City Secretary presented the Corporation Court Report for the Court repcrt months of September and October. Motion by Boyle, second by Ruff, +,hat the reoprt of the Corporation Court be accepted and placed on file. Carried. '~'uilson T!Iotion by Boyle, second by Ruff, that Chas. ~~ilson be allo~red the Bill sum of .6,00 for his expense in making a miniature "City of La Porte" for the use of the Fire Department. Carried. The Council instructed the Secretary to confirm the bill. Correspoxad'~he City Secretary presented the following correspondence which was ence ordered p~.~,ced on file; Johns-I~Iansville Co. on Transite Pressure Pipe, Mumble Oil "o. on Credit Card, J.J. Lenmion,Jr on '?.C. A}len Elec. Adding I~achime, Water Tank Service ~,o., League of Texas ~~unscipalities, 2 letters, first letter acl~xowledging u'20.~J0 warrant from the City in pa-,y~nment of one year membership in the League, betcinning I;ec.1,1937, second letter, news of le~islat:ion. On motion by Puff, second by Boyle and carried, these letters were ordered placed on file. Cancell On request of tl.e -`ouston Title Guaranty Company and on recommendation taxes of the City Attorney, Jno.°. I~iibler, who had investigated the Company's T:lock claim of a Tax Certificate covering payment of al~ axes, a motion was 227 offered by Ald. Ruff, second by Boyle, that the taxe~ be cancelled on property described as A.11 of Block 227, La Porter taxes being in the amount of ?$9.38 per year for the years 1923,1921,1925 and. in the amount of X11.25 per year for the years 1926 and 1927, during which years this property was carried on the Unl.~xown Ro11 of the City Tax Collector. The total taxes were in the amount of 50.6l~ ;.`otion cax•ried. Award A,Rotion by Boyle, second by Ruff, that the contract on the cleaning and contract painting of the City ti"Eater Tank and Tower be awarded to Claud Boatright Water on his low bid of .325.00, provided his bid is that he furnish everything Tank excepja the paint, which is to be furnished by the City.
