LA PORTE CITY COU NCIL

Keating was called to order by Mayor Pro-tem Ruff, in the absence of Mayor
Sharp, the following Aldermen responded to roll call, C.?~'. JQgee, P.L. Benson,
F.R. Boyle, F.R. Ruff.
Minutes of the Last regular meeting on February 28th and special meeting on
March 9th, were read and approved.
The Mayor came in to the meeting at this point.
Bills Motion by Boyle, second by Ruff that the following schedule of bills be
allowed and warrants drawn in payment of same:

Carried.
A coa~i.ttee from the Chamber of Co~nerce of La Porte, composed of J.Val Daaly
C~om. on and Sam Huweiler, appeared before the Council in the interest of obtaining maps
raps of the City of La Porte, showing the location of utility lines, for the use of
the F.H.A. in proposed development. After some discussion and a report by F.R.
Boyle on the possibility of having some xiaps made, a motion was offered by Benson
second by Ruff, that a cosunittee be appointed to have City maps drawn, cost not to
exceed X107.00, aad that committee be given power to act. Carried
The Mayor appointed Ald. Boyle, Ruff and Benson to act on this committee.

Letters City Atty. Kiibler read letters frog Y.M. Street~+an advising the City
Streetrcan of his withdrawal from the Baldwin case and of the postponement of
suit until other arrangements by the City could be made.

Nelson Co. in regard to pipe contract be placed on file for future
reference. Carried

Motion by Agee, second by Ruff, that the warrants as listed be
ratified. Carried.
Gulf Cities The City Secretary presented a letter and annual report from the
Report GulfCities Natural Gas Co. which was ordered placed on file,
~_yShore A letter was read from D.TJ. Cunningham in regard to taxes on his
'ark Taxes property in Bay Shore Park and in regard to-the condition of the
streets in that area.
Motion by Agee, seoond by Benson, that the City Attorney be instructed
to prepare a letter to the owners in Bay Shor Park Addition in regard
to the dedication of their property to the City and that the City Sec-
retary be instructed to mail a copy to each of said owners. Carried.
Bids Ald. Benson, repotted that he had some bids on Sewer pipe on File with
Sewer Pipe the Secretary. Motion by Ruff, second by Benson that the bids on sewer
pipe be opened Carried.
Bids were opened and tabulated as follows; La Porte Lumber Co.,

12" die. @ ~.6¢ per foot, ~3~,5.00, 15" die. @ 70¢ per foot, X525.00
18" die. @ X1.03 per Foot, ?772.50 delivered by truck if ground
passable.
Gulf Concrete Pipe Co. Bid on 750 feet Concrete pipe, plain Bell and
Spigot and p3~in Tongue & Groove pipe
12" @ 1~6~ per linear foot, 15" @ 70¢ per linear foot, 18" @ X1.03 per
linear foot.
Reinforced Tongue d: Groove Concrete Pipe
12" @ 80~ per linear foot, 15n ~' 95~ Per linear foot, 18" @ X1.38 per
linear foot. The above prices are subject to 15/ discount, payable in
30 days from date of invoice. Delivered to La Porte.
Pdotion by Agee, seoond by Ruff, that the bids on sewer pipe be tabled
for further consideration. Carried ,~

Bill The bill of the La Porte Welding & Machine Shop in the amount of X63.50
I.a Porte was Presented for discussion and action and after an extended discussion
ti~`elding and explanation of the work done a motion ~+a,s' oPf~rsd Eby Agee, s®eond by
Ruff, that X3.50 of the bill be allowed and~paid with the regular schedule
of bills and that the balance of ";60.00, representing an item of X15.00 and
an item of ~1.~5.00, for v~rork on the old American La rranae, be tabled and
referred to the Fire Go~unittee and the Fire Chief for adjustment.
Carried.
There beimg no further busines to come before the Council on motion by
Agee, second by Benson., the Council took adjournment.
