Int.on R"otion by Benson, second by Ruff, ~that the City Secretary be authorized note to pay the difference in interest on the X600.00 note tc+ the First Nat- ional Bank of La Porte Which has accrued from diie":date, April 26,1938 to present payment date. Carried Shell Motion by Boyle, second by Ruff, that the bill of the Shell Petroleum Cbrp. in the amount of ~8.2l.~. be allowed and Warrant No.1813 be issued for same. Carried. Burroughs Motion by Boyle, second by Benson , that the hiay payment on the Burroughs Adding Machine be ordered made by warrant.Ido.1812 Carried. Ins. Lotion by Boyle, second by Ruff, that the Insurance Policy on the La Porte Pr~• Volunteer Firemen be accep~ed ~s e~ewe and that the premium in the am- ` ~ ;~ punt of X201.25 be paid~in ~h~~e' ~i~nts, as follows : one third cash, ea~ y~i one third in thirty days and one third in sixty days. Carried. over 2 • Ratify Motion by Ruff, second by Eenson, that tiVarrant No. 1787 in the amount Warrant of X12.1!8, issued for 1,000 govt. printed 1~ envelopes, be ratified. Starr ied Gulf Cities Motion by Boyle, second by Ruff, that the report of the Gulf Cities Report Natural Gas. Co. on the La Porte area be ~:¢oepted and placed orl file. Carried Affidavit The City Secretary presented an affidavit on the burning of City of La ports Refunding Bonds Nos.8,9,8: 10, due April 1938, each in the principal sum of X1,000. This affidavit was accepted and ordered filed. Receipt ~Aotion by Boyle, second by Ruff, that the Receipt signed by the National Collateral Bank of Cornrnerce of Houston, Texas, covering coll~aeral tendered by the First National Bank of La Porte as depository of City Funds, be accept- ed and placed on file with the City's contract with the Bank as deposi- tory and that the old receipt be returned to the National Bank of Co~a- merce. Carried. Shell The City Ueeretary presented a letter from C.O. Crenshaw in which he Alley stated that he would be shelling the alley back of his property de- scrited as Lots 11 and 12, Block 39, La Porte, which is adjacent to and will parallel the drive to the City's garage a distance of 60 feet widening said drive about 10 feet. Mr Crenshaw stated that he would ap- prec~ate the City's support and cooperation in the matter of paying for a proportionate part of the shell. Motion by Boyle, second by Ruff, that the City meet N~.r Crenshaw's re- quest in the matter of shell for the alley bacY of hig lots in Block 39, ~ Porte, not to exceed ~ loads of shell. .Carried. Ae~vance Motion by Ruff, second by Benson, that the City be author zed to make a on Maps payment of ~1~0.00 in advance to Chas.R. Norris,Jr, and his associate for map work, upon the execution of the contract between the aforementioned parties and the City, in the City's map project. Carried. Gay~.e Bros The City Attorney reported that judgement had been entered in the case of Gayle Bros. vs City of La Porte, in the amount of ~12,375.~, with interest at 6i~ per annum from date. Fire Bept ffiotion by Boyle,.. ,second by Agee, that since the budget is not yet com- plete, the City allow to the Fire Department for the fiscal year the sum o~ X50.00 for convention expense and X70.00 for Firemen's School expense.
