Motion by Boyle, second by Benson, that the matter of per~iits for Sound 2'rucks be laid over to be repprted on at the nex~- regular meeting. Carried. I=o.h ~A P. The h'ayor read a letter addressed to himself from the Ylouston Lighting & Povrer Co. in regard to a rebate on`+,he Street and Tov~rer lights. r:"o+.ior~ by Boyle, second by Ruff, that the letter be accepted and pl~.eed on file a.nd that a letter of appreciation be written to th.e Y±ouston Light- ing ~; Power Go. Phillips The ~~!'ayor presented a letter from Phillips Investment Co. in re- Inv.Co. gard to any bonds er warrants the City might issue in the future. T."otion by Boyle, second by Agee, that the City* Secretary be in- structed to write Phillips Investment Co. that the Gity v~-ill advise them if and when any such bonds or v,*arrants are to be issued. ~~arried• The P~iayor presented a letter from the Garrett Engineering Co. on a possible time of meeting vrith the City Council. After some discussion Friday night August 26, at 8:00 oclocY was decided upon as the date, Special ?~"_tg. the Mayor called a special meetir_g of the Council for. that date, to confer vri.th Garrett Engineering Co• T!?otion by Ruff, second by Roark , that the City Secretary be instructed Garrett Eng. to call Garrett Engineering Co• by long distance telephone and advise Co• them that there will be a special meeting of the La Pgi'te City Council Friday, August 26,1938 at 8;~~ P.P,r, which their representatives are in- vited to attend. Carried. TTo Parking A!Iotion b~T Ruff, second by Agee, that the Street and Alley Committee be Signs authorized to place No Parking Signs on the garden spot being maintained at Five Points. Carried. Ald. Boyle reported that progress was being made on the drainage situ- ation in the vicinity of Five Points and that he would have a further report to make at the Wert Council Meeting.
