The ro{ular meeting of the La forte City Council not having; been held.
on January 23,1~?39, due to lack of quorum, the Iti~;ayor called a upecial
meeting of the Council to be held on January 30,1y39 at 8:00 I~.T".
I"eetinc; was called to order by I.'ayor Sharp with the following Alder-
men present: P.I,. Bens or, ".I'. Boyle, J.J. ~~~oark, Fred R. Tuff.

Suit to J.':'i. T:'ills, District Clerk, be ratified, that the City Secretary
be instructed to forward same to the District Clerk in payment of
Suit Costs in Cause P;o.2.07,7ry, City of La Porte vs !.C. I;llisor,
that this suit against Lots ~c~ ~a 5U, Block 23, ray Front be dis-
rrissed and that "1.00 overcharge on said Suit Costs be refunded to
G.C. Ellison on his Tai Ijeposit F?eceipt TIo.166, also that X6.00 be
refunded to E.D. Shepherd on his Tax Deposit Receipt Ro.168 when
he returns it, endorsed, to the City Tax Collector.

Correspond- The City Secretary read a letter from J.L. Horner, President of the
er_ce Texas Div. of the American Water ':'Yorks Assn. regarding the 1"pater forks
S"la~er'~~orks Short School to be held in Bryan, Texas, February 13 to 17, inclusive.

Committee Chairman,to the Annual ~'+ater '~'tiorks School at Bryan,neb. 1~ to
17,1939,inclusive arid. that the Ntayor and City Secretary be authorized to
issue a warrant in the amount of :~~35.00 to cover the expenses of this trip.

6th St Ald. Agee asked that something be done for the condition of 6th street
north of twain. tilotion by huff, second by l:gee, that the Street ~ Alley
Committee investigate the street that goes to Ald. Agees wash~roman's
house. Carried.
