Meeting urea palled to order by Lgayor Sharp with the following
Alderman present: C,he'. Agee, P.L. Benson, F.R. Boyle, J.J. Roark
Fred R. Ruff.
Minutes of the last aeeting were read and approved.
Oath of C.PS. Agee was sworn in as Alderman for tiro years and adainistered
Offir..e the oath of office by Mayor Sharp.
George Co~~nts and E.E. Easterly appeared before the Council repre-
`?lo~l•: X20 stinting the La Porte Independent School District and stated that the
School District had apquired tax title to Block 220, La Porte. He
stated that the School Board asked p®rasission to keep the alley of
this block closed at the present tine and asked also that they have
peraission to use the City grader and drier to leTel the block for
use as an athletics field, the School Board to pay the iPages of the
driver and the gas and oil consumed in the project. After spec dis-
cussion a notion was offered by Ruff, second by Benson, that the mat-
ter of leveling Block 220, La Porte, be turned over to the Street and
Alley Committee, to work out a plan with the Athletic Coa~ittee of the
School Board, whereby this work eight be done. Carried.
Fir-~ ~"';17G'f' The ~~ayor appointed George Isensee as Fire Chief for the ensuing year
and announced that the balanese of appointments of officers and poa-
a~ittees vrould be made at the next regular Council aeeting.

carried by those present.
hffid.avi~ The City Secretary reported the filing of affidavits on the burning
of the fallewi.ng described City of La Porte Refunding Tarrant anal
City of La Pone Sewer Funding Bond, to merit:
That pertain City of La Porte Refunding Tarrant, Series 1935,
dated January 10,1935 to January 1950, optional prior to that
date, being `arrant No. 9 for X500.00, together with the Int-
erest Coupons No. 8 to 29, both inclusive, attached to said
Narrant, which Interest Coupons were due and payable in their
numeripal order semi-annually, beginning July 10,1939 to tJan-
uary 10,1950, both inclusive, arld
City of La Porte Sewer Funding Bond, dated May 10,1938, nun-
bered One(1), in the principal sum of Five Hundred Dollars,
0500.00) and due April 10,1939.
These affidavits were ordered placed on file.
St•tlaiti; Alderman Agee reported that on the request of 1~rs George Howald,
owner of the Variety Store, the Street light neai~~the corner of
Broadway and Main was orddred turned on as of April 1st.
Motion by Ruff, second by Boyle, that this cation of the Polipe
Co>astittee be apprcvved. Carried
