Meeting called to order by Mayor Sharp with the following Ald-
ermen present: C.?4~. Agee, P.L. Benson, J.J. Roark, Fred R. Ruff.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Insure~rce F.G. Baker, appeared before the Council on the matter of insurance
covering the City Hall and Fire Station, advising the Council of
some changes that might be made. Motion by Agee, second by Roark
that F. C7. Baker, Agent, be instructed to write the insurance on
the City xall and Fire Station as fol_laws: Five year policies for
X2,000.00 Fire Insurance and X2,000.00 for Hail and Windstorm Ins-
urance, the City to pay cash on premiums when policies are delivered.
Carried.
Audit bids The bids for audit were ordered opened at this time and resulted
as follows:
_ 2.~eGuire,Mazur & Co. X5200.00, 1°". D. Royston C.P.A., X25.00 per day,
,* maximum not to excaed ~~175.00; Learned,Tapp Z: Freeze,~125.00;
Smith Auditing Co. X25.00 per day.
motion byAgee, second by Benson that the audit bid be awarded to
Learned,Tapp & Freeze on their low bid of $125.00
Carried.
Motion by Agee, second by Roark, that Petty Cash in the amount of
X9.39 be renewed and that the following warrants be ratified:
#3ia29,Jasper Christy,~3.20; ~3t~3o, T.R. Clirie,~3.20.
Carried.
Corp.Court Mayor Sharp presented Corporation Court Reports for the period
z=eports from September lst,1G39 to February 29,19Ii.0, total fines of X9.00,
Marshall's fees X2.50, N_e.yor's".fees X1.25. Motion by Agee, second
by Benson, that the Corporation Court Reports be accepted and plac-
ed on file and that warrants be written for the fees.

Fetty .~'~ater b?otion by Agee, second by Benson, that the small balances due on
A.ccoun~s Water accounts of persons who have left the City be transferred to
Petty Accounts, and the City Secretary be instructed to write a
latter to each person on the list in an attempt to collect these
balances which aggregate in the amount of X167.98.

Report: The Mayor presented the annual report of the Gulf Cities IQatural
!~ Gulf' Cities Gas Co. for 1839, which was ordered accepted and placed on file,
on moticn by Agee, second by Roark and aarried by these present.

Ulect.ion Mayor Sharp announced the following members had been appointed to
Eoard serve on the Election Board for the City Election to be held April

E.'. Sullivan, Chairman, Mrs C.A. Kirchner, Mrs J.F. Goodman, ~~rs
Katie Isensee, Alternates, F.~v'. Reynolds, Mrs L.T. Casteel.
Motion by Roark, second by Agee, that the City Council ratify the
Mayor's appointments to the election board.
Carried.

Deposits authorise th.e Mayor and City Secretary that the amount of X575.00 in
the Int. & Skg. Bond Fund which is a surplus over the April 10th and
October lOth,lq~0, requirements for the Int. & Skg. Bond Fund, and
the amount of X700.00 in the Int. ~ Skg. Sewer Funding Bond Fund,
which is a surplus over the April 10th and October lOth,191.E0 require-
ments for the Int. & Skg. Sewer Funding Bond Fund, be ple.ced on sep-
arate Time Deposits iri the First National Bank of La Porte, to dray
interest @ 2J for one year.

Pt~siness being completed, on motion by Agee and carried by those pre-
sent, the Council adjourned.
