Bills 1'egoticn by Agee, second b;r Benson, that the following schedulo of bills

done by any one other than City employees unless authorized by at least
two Councilmen. Carried.

Pipe Credits Motion by Benson, second by Roark, that all pipe credits which are
four years old or over be charged off.
Carried.
Correspond- The City Att®rney presented a letter from Marvin Hall ,State Fire Ins-
ence urance Commissioner on the arrangement for the full-paid fireman to
carry on the vrork of the Fire T::e_rshal. lt.otion by Boyle, second by
Roark, that the letter from State Fire Insurance Commissioner be placed
on file.
Carried.
The City Secretary presented a letter from Dorothy E''eikerth School of
r~&ncing, asking the privilege of using ,the second floor of the City
Ha11 for a dancing class on 4~ednesday evenings. notion by Boyle,
second by Agee, that the City Secretary be instructed to write the
lady suggesting that she approach County Commissioner Turr•entine ask-
ing that she be permitted the use of the vacant room in the precinct
Building on Broadway for the class.
Carried.
The City Secretary presented a letter from the k~eague of jexas Munici-
palities advising the City of the 19L~0 regional meeting of all Texas
City officials being held for this area in Houston at the Rice Hotel
on May 16th. Motion by Boyle, second. by Agee, treat the City of La forte
send the City Secretary to this meeting and that all other officials
attend if possible.

1939 Delq. The City Sec retary~presented the 1939. Delinquent Tax Roll, as of Jan-
Tax troll nary 31,1910, in the amount of X9,281.73, for examination by the Council.
T~~otion by Agee, second by Roark, that the 1939 Delinquent Z'ax Roll as of
January 30,1910, in the amount of X9,281.73 be approved.
Carried.
Bonds The City Secretary presented four cancelled City of La Porte Reftiinding
Bonds to be burned. "alotion by Roark, second by Agee, that City of La
Forte ReT'unding Bonds No. Fourteen(1~.~, Fifteen(15), Sixteen(16) and
Seventeen(17), each 9.n the principal sum of One Thousand Dollars,
0 1,000.00), dated October 10, A.D. 193 and due April 10, A.D. 19J~0,
be turned over to the Mayor to be burned and that proper affidavit of
same be furnished at the next regular Council meeting.
Carried.
Mayor Sharp came into the meeting at this point.
Bids Motion by Boyle, second by Ruff, that the City Secretary be instructed
Shell to get bids on shell in 100 to 500 yard lots, at hopper and also delivered
ir_ La Porte.
Carried.
Affidavit The P+Sayor preaented an affidavit on the burning of City of La Porte Sewer
Sewer Bond Funding Bond Rlo.2, in the amount of ,~j00.00,dated May10,1938, Ordered filed.

F.R. Boyle Motion by Benson, second by Roark, that the City Attorney give a ruling
on the status of ?''.R. Boyle to sit on the City Council as a voting mem-
ber.
Carried.
The City Attorney stated that he vrould give a written opinion at the
next Council meeting.
P:iotion by Boyle, that the City Council go on record as favoring a complete
written legal opinion as to the members of the City Council selling sup-
plies to the City and doing business with their kin people and as to the
City Attorney serving as Justice of the Peace and City Attorney and as to
whether it is legal for F.R. Boyle to serve as Alderman and be employed by
the County. This motion died for vrant of a second.
