J. Roark, Fred R. Ruff. Minutes of the last regular meeting, June 24.th, and of the Special meeting, June 26th, 194.0 were read and approved. Following the instruction of the City Council at the June 24.th meet- d'arrant ing on the calling for payment of City of La Port e Refunding Z"darrant No. 3 and a letter from 1't. F. Hartranft, owner of the 'Narrant, dated June 29th, 194.0, accepting the City~s offer, the assistant secretary reported that the Mayor and City Secretary had drawn ti'~arrant No. 3675 in the amount of X53.66 on the Interest and Sinking Sewer Funding Bond Fund, payable to the Interes t and Sinking Vda rrant Fund, ?'4'arrant No. 3676 in the amount of X510.00 on the Interest and Sinking tiVar- rant Fund and ~r'larrant No. 3671. in the amount of X 1.02 on the General Fund. New York Excha~~*e in the amount of X511.02 was purchased in favor of A~~anufacturers Tr~.zst Co. of N. Y. to take up City of La Porte Refunding '~7arrant No. 3 in the amount of X500.00, 10, Interest Coupor_ No in the amount of X10.00, due July Trust C i y 10, 194.0 and coru~ission to Manufacturers o. n the amount of X1.02 . ~~a.rrants Motion by Agee, second by Ruff that the following warrants be ratified: ratified ~367l~, First National Bank of La Porte,~1,02,..-~-'-3675, ,,First National Bank of La Porte, ~53.b6, ~367b Fa.rst Nat'l Bank of La Porte X510.00, and that the transfer in the amount X53.66 by Warrant ~ 3675 from the Interest and Sinking Sewer Funding Bond Fund to the Interest and Sinking i'tarrant Fund be authorized. Carried Final pymt Motion by Agee, second by Ruff that the third and final payment of Ins. policy $67.og be paid to A. N. Mc Kay, Agent on Firemen's Health and Accident Policy -~ A H R-3892?a.7. Carried 'Mayor Sharp read a letter from bars . P:2. 0. Lamlaly i~hich was ordered placed on file. The Assistant Secretary read a letter from Hughes Motor Co. which was ordered placed on file. Termitox i~~otion by Euff, second by Roark that the bid of the Termitox Co. of X198.00 for Termitoxing the City Hall be placed on file with the other bids on termite eradication and control. Carried Fieport,3pecia.l The Mayor at this time presented the report on the Special City Election Election held June 29th, 19~.a.0 at the City Hall as follows: For Alderman to serve the unexpired term of F. R. Boyle, resigned: J. Td. Johnson 70 votes Total Number of votes cast - 70. Motion by Agee, second by Ruff to accept the election returns and declare J~ N. Johnson elected as alderman and that the election returns be placed on file. Carried Budget Mayor Sharp announced that a Budget Meeting would be held 'Nednesday night, July 10, 19.0 at 7;30 P. M, ~~enetian The bid from The Consolidated Venetiatan Blind Co vTas ordered placed on Blind file unopened. Motion by Ruff, Second by Roark that the time for the report from the Street and Alley Co~nnittee on City Electrical Inspector be e~;tended to the next meeting. mayor Sharp reported that the new Fire Marshall, C~ J.
