MINUTES
LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL
AUGUST 26,19~.a.0, 8 :00 P.M.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Sharp with the following Aldermen
present: C.i~. Agee, P.L. Benson, J.N. Johnson, Fred R. Ruff
Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved.
Motion by Agee, second by Johnson, that the renewal of Petty Cash in
the amount of X6.23 be allowed.

'~'-r Motion by Ruff, second by Agee, that the Worthington Gamon bill for
bill 25 meters in the amount of X213.50 be allo~-ed for future payment.

Gillette Motion by Ruff, second by Agee, that Fred G. Gillette, be notified
l~-" meter that he must install a new 12" water meter to replace the old meter
which will not register.
Carried.

instructed to transfer the sum of x.00.00 from the Special Water Imp-
rovement Fund to the General Fund, also that the Mayor and .City Secretary
be instructed to transfer ~Ia.00.00 from the General Fund back to the
Special Water Improvements Fund as soon as it is availabl®.

Fudget Motion by Agee, second by Benson, that the following resolution be
adopted:
WHEREAS, heretofore, the Mayor of the City of La Porte pre-
pared and submitted to the City Council, at its regular meeting, held
on July 22,19l~0, his proposed budget for the fiscal year, April 1,191.0
to March 31,19l.~7.; and
WHEREAS, the City Council filed such proposed budget with the
Clerk of the City on the 22nd day of July,19L~0,and designated that a
public hearing on such budget be held at the City Hall at 8:00 P.M. on
August 26,1910, and caused public notice of such hearing to be made; and,
WHEREAS, such public hearing has been held, it is therefore
ordered by the Council that the budget, as prepared and submitted by the
Mayor, is hereby finally approved by the City Council and it is hereby
order®d that a true copy of such approved budget, together with a copy
of this order, shall be filed in each of the offices of the Clerk ox' the
City of La Porte, the County Clerk of Harris County, Texas and the State
Ccanptroller, at Austin, Texas.

PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY, ASSESSMENT AND COLLECTION OF AN AD VALOREM TAX FOR
THE YEAR 1g1~0 OF AND AT THE RATES OF X1.50 ON EACH X100.00 VALUATION OF TAX-
ABLE PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF LA PORTS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYTNG THE INTEREST
ON, AND A SINKING FUND FOR THE REDnMPTION OF, "CITY OF LA PORTS REFUNDING
BONDS, SERIES 1935' AND "CITY OF LA PORTS SEWER FUNDING BONDS, SERIES 1938n
AND FOR PAYIIJG CURRENT EXPENSES OF SAID CITY be adopted as read.

Fire Com- aotion by Benson, second by Agee, that the letter from Fire Commissioner

The Assistant City Secretary presented affidavit from the Daily Sun on
the printing of the notice of Budget hearing.
