Meeting 4ras called. to order by Mayor Sharp, with the following Council members and City Officials present ; Ald. C• rrt. Agee, J. r?. Joranson, C. F. Norris, Fred R• Ruff, City Attorney Kiibler, and Assistant Sec. Isensee. Minutes of the ls.st meeting were read and approved. Motion by Ruff and second by Johnson that the Fire Hose bids be opened. Carried. Mayor Sharg asked that the submitted bids be read. The following Companies submitted bads: The Gsadall Rubber Ce,, The Goodrich Rubber Co., The Eureka Fire Hose Div:.si.on, American-La France - Foamite Corp., and The Quaker Rubber Co. The follcw~ing prices were given in the bids; (A11 22") Goodall Co. Undere~7ters ~.7~ per ft., Nuflex $•90, Super X X1.03. Prices F.O.B. ha Porte, Texas. :The Goodrich Co., Doublo Jaeket White King ~I.20 ger ft. Jupiter ~1.O1~, and Planet ~.QS• The fire hose American-ha France-I~'cami.te Corp. Brigade Dozable Jacket x•77 per ft•, bids Raxwell Double Jacket X1.1.0. The Eureka Fire Hose Di~isiar_, X1.10 for Multex Multiple Woven, Avon Double Jacket~~•Q3, Record Double 3acket ~.QO, Underwi:iters ~.?5 and witl-Aout Underwriters seal, ~.?3, 2f tenth proximo, 60 days net with additional 10 months at ~ interest if desired. Quaker Rubber Co•, Multiple Woven Brand, Stamped month and year $1.1,0 per ft. 2°' 10th proximo or 90 days net. After thorough discussion it was deoided that the Retard hose at ~•g0 per Poet offered by The Eureka Fire Hose Divis+~on met the present Citys Accepted needs, and on motion by Ruff, second btu Agee, and passed by those & Awarded present, the contract for 600 ft. of ~" Record, Double Jacket hose, ~ ~•a0 per foot, coupled complete, delivered, was awarded to the Eureka Fire Hose Division. With a January 1st, 19I~2 billing. Mr• Fred G. Gillette appeared before the Council to find out the Shelling e:nount of shell the City will put down on 5th Ave from South C St• of 5th Ave to the new School Bus garage, and what would be the Schools part. from C St Mr. Gillette was adv~.sed that the City would pay one-third of the to School cost of c!}e'.19_n~ o" they street and the property owners would have to Garage pay two-thirds the cost of the shelling as is the policy of the City in shelling any street. Mo°~ian by Agee and second by Norris that the City pay for one-third Shelling of the shelling of 5th eve from. South C Bt. to the School garage as is the usual basis for any shelling done by the City. Carried. Motion by Ruff and Second by Johnson that the following warrants be ratified; warrants Geo. Simon #1602 ~9.F4 & refund Geo. Simon #1.605 ~17.6Q 27.20 and that Mr. Guy R. Hamilton be refunded the amount of X9.25 For sewe~~ connection to the Kerber house as per Pais contract with the City. Carried. 1 's • CJ Motion by Agee, second by Ruff that interest in the amount of X7.50 on int. & note in the amount of $500.00 be paid to the First National Bank of La Porte, note renew. and the note be renewed for ninety days. Carried. Vital M®tion by Agee, second by Johnson that the City Secretary write a letter Statistics to the State-B©ard of Health asking for a combination of the Citys and .the precincts Vital Statistics Registration. Carried. City Attorney Kiibler volunteered, after the passing of the foregoing motion, to write the letter to the State Board oP Health in place of the City Secretary. After the reading of a letter from the Mueller Co. concerning priorities extended to mnnieipal and private Water Works, a motion was made by priorities Agee and seconded by Johnson that the Water Committee confer with City Attorney giibler on this priority proposition. Carried. Motion by Ruff, second by Norris that City Secretary write the Houston Lighting and Power Co. asking them to install the street lights to which Street the City is entitled as F,er their agreement with the Light Co.
