• .. MINUTES LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL JANUARY L2, 19!.92, 8:00 P.S. Meeting was oallsd to order by Mayor Sharp, with the following Aldermen and City officials pre;~~:'.:- Ald; Fred R. Ruff, J.N. Johnson, C.F. Norris, City Attorney Kiibler, Assistant Secretary Christensen. Minutes of the Last regular Heating were read and approved, So. N. Bell Mr. Clark, representing the South Western Bell Telephone Co. Tel• Co. appeared before the Council and requested that the City Council Taxes reduce the assessed taluation of The Telephone Co. taxes from 33,000 to X29,000 for 1941. After sorue discussion motion was made by Johnson and second by Norris that the Council aocept the inventory aP values as submitted by Mr, Clark as being correct and to reduce the assessed valuation of the Telephone Co. to $29,000 for 1941, Carried. Roof R pair Motion by Johnson, second by Ruff, that the roof on City Hall No. City Ha11 2 be repaired and tha front part of the building be offered to the No. 2 Church cf Christ at X20.00 per month. Carried. Motion by Johnson, seeond by Ruff, that the following schedule of bills in the amount of X303.77 be allowed and ordered paid; Bills Geo. H. Blair, Sere. Hamilton be paid for the two hrs. on January 5, 1942, that was deducted from his salary for the v~reek ending January 8, 1942, this amount of 51.00 to be in- oluded in his salary for the week ending January 15, 1942. Motion by Ruff, second by Johnson, that the City renew its menber• Municipalities ship in 'Ehe League of Texas Municipalities, dues being 54.0.00 for the period beginning Deoember 1, 1941 and ending November 30, 1942. Honarabl® Mayor and City Council, City of La Porte, Teals Gentlement On the 29th day of December, 191.1 , at a regular meeting of your Honorable Bo y, there was u y passed and approved an Ordinance, entitled as follows: AN ORDINANCE FIXING RENTALS TO BE PAID BY GAS COMPANIES OR OTHER PERSONS NOVff OR HEREAFTER DISTRIBUTING, SELLING OR DELIVER+~ ING NATURAL GAS WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LA FORTE, TEXAS, FOR THE PRIVILEGE OF USING AP1D OCCTJPTING WITH THEIR GAS PIPE LINES, PIPES, FIXTURES AND OTHER STRUCTURES AND EQUIPMENT THE STREETS, EASEMENTS, ALLEYS, PARKS A'~TD OTHER PUBLIC WAYS AND PLACES WITHIN SAID CITY, PROVIDIi~TG FOR THE ACCEPTANCE HEREOF BY THE GAS COMPANY, AND PROVIDING AN EMERGENCY. In compliance with the provisions off' Section 1?_ of the above entitled ordinance, this is to notify you that the HOUSTON NATURAL GAS CORPORATION, a corporation duly organised and eai.sting under and by virtue of the laws of the State of Texas, and having its principal placs~ of business in the City o_° Houston, Harris County, Texas, has accepted and doss hereby accept the terms and provisions of said ordinance and agrees to abide by the terms, provisions and conditions therein stated.
