LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL
APRIL 13, 191;2, 8 s 00 P.9R.
Meeting Was called to order by Mayor Sharp with the following
Aldermen and City officials present; Ald. C.M. Agee, C.F. Norris
Fred R. Ruff, J.J. Roark, J.N. Johnson, City Attorney Biibler
and Assistant City Secretary Christensen.
rdinutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Bills Motion by Agee, second by Ruff, that the following sohedule of
bills in the amount of :~59t~.31 be allowed and ordered paid.

Corp. Court Mayor Sharp presented the Corporation Court Report for the period
Report beginning April 1, 19,41, and ending March 31, 19t~2~ Motion by
Roark, second by Johnson, that the Corporation Court Report pre-
sented by the Mayor be accepted and ple.ced on file.

Bids The bSayor asked for the audit bids to be opened. Bids were opended
and tabulated as folloars : McGuire do 1+~$ur, X200.00, W. D. Royston
X25.00 per day for senior accountant and $15.00 per day for assistant,
Learned do Tapp X135.00. Motion by Roark, second by Ruff, that the
auditing of City accounts be awarded to Learned and Tapp on their lair
bid of ~135.ao
Carried.
Refund 9~otion by Johnson, second by ages, that the amount of refund due
L.L. Ponder on his sewer extensior. deposit of $20.2~,be paid.
Carried.
Letter Motion by Johnson, second by Norris, that the City Secretary be
instructed to write a letter to the Mayor of Houston, also a copy
to Mr. Huey, thanking them for the lawn of the sewer cleaning
apparatus to the City of La forts.
Carried.
The Assistant Secretary presented and read a letter from the Harris
County Mayor's and Councilmen's Association. Motion by Ruff, second
by Johnson that this letter be placed on file.
Carried.
Election The Mayor presented the report of the City Election held April 7, 1942,
at the City Hall, as follows:
For Agayor to serve two years:
Fred R. Ruff 274 votes
Rufus Honeycutt 118 votes
Mrs. Hirahner 26 votes
For Alderman to serve two years=
J.J. Roark 313 votes
T.F. Smith 1?5 votes
Jack Kerber 254 votes
For City Secretary to serve two years:
l~rs. ~?.0. Lambly 399 votes
For Marshall to serve two years:
R. H. Be-ker 400 votes
Total votes oast 417
Motion by Agee, second by Ruff, that Fred R. Ruff, for Mayor, J.J.
Roark and Jaak Kerber, for Aldermen, Mrs. M.O. La:dbly, for City
Secretary and R. H. Baker, Por 2+3arshall, the candidates receiving
the highest number of votes, be declared Bleated to serve for two
years and that the election returns be plaoed on file.

The near City Counoil was called to order by Mayor Ruff with the
following Aldermen and City officials present; C• M. Agee,

Attorney Kiibler and Assistant Secretary Christensen.
The Mayor announced that he would make his appointments at a
Speofal Meeting ~iednesday, Rpril 15th at 7x00 P.M.

Rousey quoting prices on the repair of the two typewriters in the
