LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL

Meeting was called to order by Mayor Ruff with the following Aldermen
and City officials present: J.N. Johnson, C.F. Norris J.J. Roark,City
Attorney Jno. S. Kiibler, City Secretary Lazably.

TN~G bill Motion by Johnson, second by Roark, that the bill of the Worthington
Garcon i(ater Co. in the amount of X1,000.00 for 100 meters be paid out
of the Special Water Improvements Fund Carried•
Ins.Prem Lotion by Johnson, second by Norris, that the bill of A.N. Mc Kay, Agt.
in t he amount of X138.00 for premium on Firemen's Accident Folicy be
paid from the General Fund. Carried

Dues,Assn. Motion by Norris, second by Johnson, that the annual dues of X5.00 for
Mayors & the year 191.+2 be paid to A.M'. Thamnpson,Secy. Humble, Texas, Secretary
Councilmen of the .Association of Mayors and Councilmen. Carried.
Fire Chief Motion by Norris, second by Johnson, that the City a11ow~~.0.00 for the
A & M expenses of the Fire Chief to the annual Fire School at A & M College,
College Station, to be held from May'18th to May 22nd.191a2.
Carried.
Fire Chief Motion by Norris, seoond by Roark, that the City allow X15.00 to the
Tires Fire Chief for having his car tires re-lined. Carried.
City ~`arshal The letter of the City Marshal dated April 23,191,2, was considered at
this time. Motion by Johnson, second by Norr is, that the City not al-
low the raise of X10.00 in the car ~ allowance of the City Marshal,
that he has asked for at this time. Car~tied
Resolution Motion by Roark, second by Johnson, that the following resolution be

Parking
VPHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Porte, Texas has
heretofore, by resolution, prohibited the standing or parking of any
vehicles within a twenty-four (21a.) Foot space in front of the "Port
Theatre" on Vest Main Street, and now desires to make such spaoe
twelve (12) feet, instaed of teenty-four (21.x) feet, in width;
N~1VP, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THH
CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS THATs the standing or parking of aqy vehicle is
prohibited within the spaoe, twelve (12) feet in width, directly in
front of and adjacent to the entrance to the building of the "'Port
T~eatre", on West Fain Street, between First and Second Streets, in the
Clty of La Porte,Texas, and further that the Police Comanittee is hereby
authorized and instructed to properly mark and sign said place as a
"no parking zone"•
AND IT IS SO ORDERED

Electrical Movtion by Johnson, second by Norris, that the matter oP the renewal
Licenses of Electrical Licenses be turned over to the Electrical Board to be
reported on at the next Council meeting. Carried.
Corp•Court The Mayor presented the Corporation Court Report for the period front
Report April 18th to April 30th,191~^. Motion by Johnson, second by Norris
that the CorporationCourt Report be aocepted and ordered filed and
Mayor's fees paid. Carried.
Audit Motion by Johnson, seoond by Roark, that the Audit of the City's books
for the fiscal year ending March 31,191.2, made by Learned & Tapp, be
aocepted, with correction on the last sentence in paragraph on "Taxes
Receivable" on page 2, and the bill of X135.00 be paid when this cor-
rection has been made. Carried.
