JULY 13, 1912, 8:00 P.M.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Ruff with the following
.Aadermen and City Officials present: C. M. Agee, C. F. Norris,
J. J. Roark, City Att~~. Kiibler, Assistant Secy. Christensen.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approaed.
Alderman Kerber Dame into the meeting at this time.
Petition W. J. Barnes appeared before the City Council and presented a
petition signed by 16 Bayshore Park Property owne rs asking that
the City furnish them. with water and to install s uch mairxs and
meters to their respeetiv°e prope rty as is customary and now fur-
nished to other property o+Qners in the City. Aft er some die -
clzssion Mr. Barnes stated that he would work out a plan with
the Bayshor® Park property ov.~aez° s and present it to the Council
at a later date. Motion by Ro®rrk, second by Norris, that this
petition be placed on file.
Carried.
Laud Sp®ak- R, Honeycutt appeared before the City Council in regards to the
er operation of the loud speaker in the Port Theatre . Motionby
Roark, second by Norris, that the City issue Mr. Honeycutt a per-
mit to operate the loud speaker in the lobby of the Port Theatre
~~ subject to City regulations.
Carried.
Bills Motion by Roark, second by Norri s, that the following schedule

Contract Motion by Norris, second by Berber, that the contract with Browning-
Browning- Ferris Hach. Co. on the slightly used Galion Motor Grader, complete
Ferris with International tractor power, equipped with pneumatic tires, bear-
ing Serial No. Gb268A, Engine SIN-18281, be accepted as follows: Total
price, X1.350.00, trade in value of old Grader, X200.00, Dash payment,
X600.00 and balance of X550.00 in notes of X50.00 per month plus int-
erest at the rate of six per cent (~iPf.) per annum as it accrues.

Transfer 2~otion by Norris, second by Roark, that X600,00 be transferred from
Special Mater Impt. Fund to the General Fund; to be refunded to the
Special Water Impt. Fund some time during tax oollection time.

Warrants Motion by Roark, second by Norris, that the following Warrants be
ratified ~ No. 5283, Houston Nature.l G s Co., ~3.b2 and No. 528la.,
Eureka Fire Hose, ~1a:65.50. A

Connection Motion by Roark, second by Norris, that the Eli Sprayberry and J.E.
fee pr8-rated Chambers connection fees, on the E.D. Clerk line, in the amount of
X2.00 be pro-rated equally to E.D. Clark, W•S• Lewis, J.A. Cook,
Paul Stevenson and N. F. Gilliam as per the City's contract with
these original owners and that these original owners be notified
that this is the final connection as per their contract with the
City.

Letter Motion by Roark, second by Berber, that the eop~,r of a letter from
Dump ground R. E. Turrerttin, Jr. to the Commissioners Court oonoerning a dump-
~ound for the City, be placed on file.
Carried.
Corp. Court Motion by Norris, seoond by Berber, that the Corporation Court Re-
Rer_ crt port as presented by the BGayor for the Pdonth oP June, 191;2, be ac-
cepted and ordered filed, and Mayor's fees paid.

Letter Motion by Norris, second by Roark, that the Dopy of a letter from
b~aintainer R.E. Turrentine, Jr. to-the Corunissi_oner's Court concer~ng City
of Ie, Porte's request to use Maintainer 6313 in doing some work on
the streets i:n La Porte, be placed on file.

Letter Ho,.:. Letter from The Houston Lighting & Power Co., concerning restrictions
Light. & Pow. on the use of copper in making electrical eortneetions was read and
motion was made by Kerber, second by Roark that this letter be planed
on file.
Carried.
Insurance Motion by Norris, second by Roark, that a 5 year insuranoe polioy
City Gar~_ge on the Fire Chief's living quarters and City Garage be given to
A. N. Mc Kay, Agt.
Carried.
Resoind Motion by A?orris, seoond by Roark, to rescind the following motion
2~otion of June 23rd; that a copy of the letter from Parker Bros. on tk~e
asphalt coated stall paving to be done in front of the Port Theatre
be sent to R. Honeycutt and that his check in the amount of X30.00
be returned to Him.
