Meeting was call~sd to order by :Iayor Ruff, with the follovring
~lderrnen and City officials present, J.N. Johnson, J.Pi. Kerber,
C.P. i~?orris, City atty. Ki.ibler, City Secy.T~ambly.
Minutes of the last me=eting were read and approved.
Port TheatreThe Mayor presented two checks totaling ~b3.57,from the East Texas
Paving Theatras, co°varing the cost of paving in front of the Port Theatre
in La Porto.A~iotion by Johnson,seeond by Kerber, that the City accept
the two cheekv,No. 71tx2 in the amount of X30.00 and No. 8226 in the
anaunt of 33.5?,frorn the vast Texas Theatres to cover the cost of
the paving; in front of the Port Theatre. Carried.
Parking The Mayor presented the matter of parking space in front of the Port
Theatre Theatre. A.4otion by Johnson, second by laerber that the Port Theatre
be a.llo:~red the width of the Port Theatre building, 28 feet, for Park-
ing space for angle parking. Carried.
Safety ?~.'otion by JoAi.~soaz,secor2d by Norris, that the City furnish the material
gone and have "Safeey gone, IrTo Parking" sign painted on the curb in front of
the Port Theatre and the Street px, alley Committoe designm.te the angle
parking line by fire hose attached to the pavement.
Carried.
Loud ?vIotion by Norris, second by Johnson, that the ~~ayor,only, be given
SpeaY._ers authority to issue permits on loud speakers in the City limits of
La Porte. Carried.
Letter ~:4otian by Johnson, second by Kerber, that the letter from. the Texas
Terminex Cor.-~any dated July 20,191x2 be placed on file. Carried.
Bayshore ARotion by Johnson, second by Morris, that if the City Attorney finds
Park that the City can. legally install water lines in the streets of Bay
Shore Park Addition, the Ivla.yor be authorized to proceed with the pro-
gram which he has outlined to the City Council. Carried.

and City Secy. in the ari~rint of :7.00 be ratified. Carried.

19Li2, from the Texas Highway Dept. on Drainage in the Town of La
forte, be placed on file. Carried.
`lotion by Johnson, second by Norri~r, that tha salary of the ass-
istant City Secretary be raised from X70.00 to X75.00 per month
beginning August lst,1912. Carried.
Ptlotion by idorris,second by Johnson,-that the salary of the City At-
torney be "raised from X30.00 to X35.40 per month beginning August

Motion by Johnson, second by Kerner and carried that the meeting
ad3ourn.
