Meeting was called to order by Mayor Ruff, with the following i~ldermen and City officials present: C.I. Agee, J.N. Johnson, C.F. Norris, C.,ity Attorney giibler, City Secretary Lambly. T~linutes of last regular meeting of Nov. 2l~th and Special meeting of Nov. 28th, 19L2, were read and approved. Letter The City Secretary presented a letter from Patrick IIenry, Secretary of the Texas Christian Missionary Society asking for a reduction of City taxes on the La Porte property of the Soci©ty on the basis of the lower valuations set up by the County and School Eax offices on this property. ~4otion by Agee, second by Norris that the valuations o~B the property owned by the `texas Christian Missionary Society be left as fined by the City Equalization Board. Carried. Office Motion by ~igee, second by Johnson, that the City Secretary's 0$fio® be Close closed at noon on Thursday Decem~rer 24th and remain closed until 8:00 A.ll4. Monday, December 28th,191.~2. Carried. Corp.Court 1~layor R~.iff presented the report of the Corporation Court for the month Report of November, 19ia2. Motion by Norris, second by Johnson, that the salary of the Assistant City Secy. ~ceretary be raised from ~5.U0 to X100.00 per month, effective,December 16th,19I~2 . - Carried. Auxill. Motion by Johnson, second by Norris, Lhat the Auxilliary Fire Pump allo- P~p cat e3 to the City of La ports by the O.ffioe of Civillian Defense for the duration of the war, be mounted on the City Sevrer Truck temporarily, until other arrangements can be made. Carried.. adders & The Mayor reported that the OCD had also allocated 3 fourteen foot lad- Helmets data and 1.~6 helmets to the City of ~,a Port© for the duration. Office Motion by Johnson, second by Norris, that the City Seoretary be authorized Cleaned to have the City office bleaned and to pay the bill out of Petty Cash• Carried. Letters The City Secretary was instructed to place on file the letters of the filed Aixie Tank Co. and the American .City Magazine.'.. _~ . _ - • . Ord, on Motion by Agee, second by Johnson, that the City Attorney be instructed Storage to prepare an Ordinanoe regulating sawmills and storage of hay in the area from 8th Ave. west to 8th street and from North B to South D., the limit of amount of hay to be stored boing one ton.
