Ruff, with the fallowing Aldermen and City Officials present: J.N. Johnson, J.H. Kerber, C.F. Norris, J.J. Roark, City Atty. Kiibler, ,Asst. Secretary Christensen. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Oaths of ~ Motion by Roark, second by Johnson, that the Oaths of Office Off ico of L. E. e.ndR"Erv+rin as Deputy City Marshals be placed on file. Carried. Servico Cor- Motion by Kerber, second by Norris, that the City Secretary •~ract notify the Burroughs Adding Machine Co. that the City does not wish to renew its service contract on the City's Adding Machine which expired Jan. 18, 1913. • ~ Carried. P~ais© Motion by Norris, second by Johnson, that the salary of Fire Chief, C. J. VPilson, be raised X25.00 per month effective March 1, 1943. Carried. ~ Election The Mayor read the following Election Order. ,' Crder Be it ordered b the Ma or and City Council of La Porte, Y Y Texas that the annual election be held at the City Hall Building in said City of La Pdrte, on the 6th day of April, A.D. 19l~3, for the purpose of electing three members to the Board of Aldermen of said City. It is further ordered that F.W. Reynolds, Mrs. Dallis Ptright, DGrs. Geo. Howald and Mrs. Wm. Casteel, and as alternates Mrs. Harry Ralston, Bars. J. W. Canada and Mrs. Otis Harrison are hereby appointed election officers, as designated, and that said election be held°in the manner prescribed by law for hold- , ing such elections. It is Further ordered that the returns of suoh election be delivered to the City Council of said City, in open session, as soon as praoticable after the alosin~g o£ the polls. It is further ordered that proper notice of suoh election be published in the official newspaper. Motion by Roark, second by Jo~mson, that the Election Order be passed as read. Carried. Reso3:~a5.nn The Mayor also read the following Resolutions Be it resolved by the City Counoil of the City of Ira Porte, Texas, that all candidates for office, at the City election to be held on the 6th day of April, A.D. 191x3 shall 1i ~5 Over ~~ • 146 ~ '~. • '. 1 file their applications for their names to be placed on the official ballot, with the Mayor of the City, not later than twelve o'clook midnight of the 26th day of Maroh, A.D. 1943, the same being at least ten full days prior to the date of said election, and further, that the names of no person shall be placed o the offic~~l ballot unless his application has been filed at or prior to twelve o'clock midnight of the 26th day of Maroh, A.D 1943, and it is so ordered. Motion by Roark, second by Johnson, that the Resolution be passed as read. Carried. Motion by Johnson, seoond by Norris, that the meeting be recessed until 8:00 P.~i. Parch 1, 1943• Carried.
