Meeting was oalled to order by Mayor Ruff with the following Aldermen and City Offioials present: Ald. M. D• Burgin,, J. N. Johnson, J. H. Kerber, J. J. Roark, T. F. Smith, City aAtty• Kiibler, City Secretary Christensen. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Slaughter The Matter of the H• R. Nickel Slaughter house was discussed and goose x Motion was made by Johnson, seoond by Smith, that the City re~eot and prohibit the operation of H. R. Nickel's Slaughter house and draw up ordinance to Dover same. The Mayor asked for a voice vote which resultod as follows: Johnson, Yes, Kerber, No, Roark, No, Sriith, Yss, Bergin, Ho• The Mayor declared the motion valid. i'©t itian Rev• J. B. Powers presented a petition with 82 names ob~eoting to the operation of a Public Slaughter House and requesting the City Counoil to re~eot the permit of this Slaughter House inside the City Limits. Rev. Powers also asked that the Counoil reconsider their motion to re3eot the operation of this Slaughter House. Lolls Motion by Roark, second by Kerber, that bill A. E. Fawcett, Jr. in the amount of X208.00, and bill from Southern Engine and Pump Co., in the amouirt of ~19o.h2, be paid out of the Special YPater Impts. Fund. C rried. a Cora. Co,lrt The Mayor presented the Corporation Court Report from June 11th to :?epart June 30th, 19l~3• Motion by Roark, seoond by Kerber, that the Corporation Court re- port as presented by the Mayor be accepted and Mayor's Fees paid. Carried. Fid The Mayor presented a bid from Pfeiffer El®otrio Co. for installing electrical wiring in connection with the new sewage puap at Lift Station No. 2, in the amount of X152.50, which does not include furnihhing or installing a new float swithh, and if magnetic atatter is furnished by others, ~Ia0,A0 ma~,r be deducted from above estimate. Motion by Kerber, Second by Burgin, that bid from Pfeiffer Electric Co. be placed on file. Carried. Cleaning ~ Motion by Kerber, seoond by Johnson, that the cleaning of B Street u'~reet ditch from 7th Ave. to Deer Creek be awarded to Geo. Cockburn. (Over) I'1 ~~~ Letter The Mayor presented s letter from the Texas Termins,a Co on termiting Texas '~errv.nas of the City Hall Bldg. The Mayor asked the Building Committee to `~o• get together and study the matter of termiting and report at the Wert Counoil meeting. The City Sessretary and Tax Colleotor presented the 1912 Delinquent Delinquent Tax Tax Rool as of February 1, 1943, ~ the amount of X9,692.88, For Roll esamination by the Counoil. Motion by Burgin, seoond by Roark, that the City of Ia Porte Delinquent Tax Roll in the amount o P $9,692.88, as of February 1, 1943, be approved. Carried.
