LA PORTS CITY COLTrCIL
OCTOBER 25, 19}x.3, 10;00 A.M.
Medting was called to order by Mayor Ruff with the following
Aldermen and City Officials present: Ald: J. N. John®on, J. J•
Roark, T. F. Smith, City Atty, giibler, City Secy. Christensen.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Resignation r.~otion by Johnson, second by Roark, that the-City Council accept
the resignation of Mrs. F. R. Roberts, as Assistant Secretary,
effective October 22, 191;.3.
Carried.
Corporation The Mayor presented the Corporation Court Reporter from September 1,
Court Re- 1943 to September 30, 1943.
port Motion by Johnson, second by Smith, that the Corporation Court Re-
ports as presented by the Mayor be accepted and R4ayor's Fees paid.

1'ax Suit Motion by Johnson, second by Smith, that the matter of filing tax
suit on Block 32 be turned over to the City Attorney for advise-
ment.
Carried.

Resolution Motion by Johnson, second by Smith, that tYie folllowing resolution
be adopted:
V~REAS, the City of La Porte Has heretofore pgssed and
approved Ordinance No. 261, regulating traffic upon the public
streets of the City of La Porte; and
lV!'.ERE~1;', such Ordinance provides that the City Council
shall, by resolution, determine and designate~:the character of all
official traffic signs and signals and shall designate the location
where the same shall be installed;
P101'V, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUPTCIL THAT:
the standing or parking of any vehicle is prohibited within the
space on the East side of South Second Street from the intersec-
tion of 'West Main Street and South Second Street, a distance of
Thirty Tv~ro (32) feet South of such intersection, and that such
space be reserved for officers, and further that the Police
` Committee is hereby authorized and instructed to proper3~r mark and
` sign said place as a "no parking zone";

Traffic moving over find along South A Street, in an Easterly
direction shall stop before entering the West crosswalk at the inter-
section of such Street with South Broadway Street;
Traffic moving in a Northerly direction over and alongSouth
First Street shall stop before entering the South crosswalk of the
intersection of such Street with West Main Street;
` Traffic moving in a Northerly directio3~ over and along :iouth
Third Street shall stop before entering the South crosst~ralk of the
intersection of suoh Street with West brain Street;
The Folice Committee is hereby authorized and instructed to
properly mark and sign, vrith "stop" signs, the he reinabove mentioned
intersections at the proper places.
