The Secretary also read a eomm?xnication fror,~ arirs. Ruth Turrentine, Cour~t;* Co?:~missioner~ dated December 22, 1913. These cor.?rnunications were ordered placed on file. _~ 20~ ~ . Extension The T~tayor asked fora report from the Sewer Cornmi.ttee on. exter_sion Block 197 ir,~ Bloch 197, La Porte. The committee reported an estimate of y175.0U on cost for labor and materials for laying line from alley back of Crate Apartments to 7th. Ave. Alderman Burgin carne into the meeting at this point. Smith be cancelled effective January 11, 1911.,., but that Corunission his salary be paid at the regular rate up to February 1, 19~.; his commission being cancelled for economical reasons, due to the fact that it is necessary for the City to undergo certain improve- ments, such as street improvements, City hall repair, Truck Pur- cha.se and other necessary Improvements. Carried. Terrriting The 1,layor appointed the Building Committee to make an investigation on ;.the termiting of the City Hall .and bring a report before the Council. Chief of The ~dayor turned the matter of ?Ioward W. Sr!mith's telephone service Police,Tel. over to the Police Co::~^:ittee for investigation.
