239 MINUTES ' LA BORTE CITY COUNCIL JUNE 12, 19th., 8:00 P. M. Meeting was Dolled t® order by Mayor Ruff with the fallowing Aldermen and City Offioials present: Xld. M. D• Burgin, J. N• J®hnson, P. L. Benson, George F. Norris, T. F. Smith, City dltty• Kiibler, City Secretary Christensen. B+i:i.nutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Delinquent Mr. Smith and Mr. Chap¢nan appeAred before the Counoil in regard to Tax System the setting up of a delinquent tax system for the City and after a short discussion on this matter were instructed by the Council to draw up a proposal and present t© the Council at theix next meet- ing on June 26. Transfer M©tion by Johnson second by Burgin, that X1,000.00 be transferred from the Special ~ater Improvements Fund to the General Fund's to be refunded to the Speoial eater Improvements Fund some time during tax collection time. Corp Court The Mayor presented the Corporation Court Report from April 20, 19l~. Report to May 28, 19L~t.~.. Drainage The Secretary was instructed t© write Cooper Dewey, Resident Sngr., Texas Highway Departrnsrrt, asking i~im tv meet with the Street and Alley Cgmm~.ttee in regard to the drainage on 9~est fain Street. .Angle Parking Motion by Norris, second by 5mith,that the City draw up a resolution on angle parking from alley on North 1st and 2nd streets to Main and Prom Alley on South 1st and 2nd streets to Main. Carried. Geffken-Salary The May®r turned the matter oP a raise in salary for Claus Geffken over t® the Street aml alley Committee for a®nsiderati®n or any ether disp®siti®n to be made. Jones Bute Co. Motion by Johnson, sec®nd by Norris, that bill in the amount •f $ill ~6~00 from James Bute Co. For framing of an old relic be paid. This picture was donated to the City by F. ~. Reynolds and is the ,picture of a IIniversity that was supposed to be built in the early days ®f j'a, Porte at Sylvan Beach. Carried. affidavits The Mayor presented pr©per affidavits €~n the burning of the follow- ing City sf La P®rte Bonds: Cit of La Porte. Refunding B®nds numbered Thirty(30), Thirty-one~31), Thirty-two(32), and Thirty- three(33), each in the principal sum of One Thousand Dollars 0 1,000.00), dated October 10, 193 and due April 10, 19I.~, City ®f La P•tte Sewer Funding Bond numbered Six(6) in the principal sum of Five Hundred Dollard(~500.00) dated May 10, 1938 and due .~pril 10, 19?~. and City of Ia Porte Sewsr Refunding Bond, number- - ed One(1) in the principal sum ©f One Thqusa~d Dollars(~1,000.00) dated February 1, 19l~. and due April 10, 19l.,~.. Delinquent The City Secretary and Tax Collector presented the 193 Delinquent Tax Roll Tax Roll as~ of February 1, 191~t.a._ in the amount of ~8,905.].l~, for examination by the Council. Motion by Johnson, second by Burgin, that the City of La Porte Delinquent Tax Roll in the amount of ~8,905.1Ja.as of February 1, 19l~l.r. be approved. Carried. Financial Motion by Burgin, seeand by Benson, that the City financial state- Statement meat as of March 31, 191ili. be published i.n the ~ official newspaper. Cast~ied.
