Is.xicab Motion by Benson, second by Roark, that the City Secretary be instructed to write the ODD requesting a permit for another taxicab for Bill Jones. Carried. Street Lts. Motion by Johnson, second by Smith, that the City request the Houston Lighting & Power Co. to move the sheet light from Carroll Ave. ~ East Main St. to Broadway and South B and an additional light be placed on Third & South B• Carried. Incinerator Motion by Norris, second by Johnson, that the City Engineer be instructed to make up cost on an incinerator. Carried. Stray Dogs Motion by Smith, second by Benson, that the City contact the SPCA ir_ regard to working out a plan to dispose of stra3z dogs and that the City will cooperate with them. Carried. Surplus property Motion by Norris, second by $ohnson „that the City Secretary be instructed to write a letter to Coke Stevenson, Chairman, State 'Jar Council, advising that the City of La Porte is interested in surplus property loaned by the Office of Civilian Defense and ask for prices on same. Rc,ise, Johnnie b4otion by Smith, second by Norris, that the salary of Johnnie `Thornton Thornton be raised to 75~ per hour retroactive to It~ay 25,1yI~5. Carried. Motion by Benson, second by Johnson, that the chairman of the Sewer Committee make a test on the Shell Service Station grease trap to see if it will si:hon out after trap is filled to ground level and make recor:~rendation to the Council. Thirty-four (~1~), Thirty-five (35) , Thirty-six (36 ) and Thirty-seven(37i, One 6ity of La Porte Seti;rer Funding Bond numbered Seven(7), And One City of La Porte Sewer Refunding Bond numbered gw'o(2), paid and cancelled, to be burned. Motion by Roark, second by Johnson, that City of La Porte Re.. funding Bonds i~Tos. Thirty-f our(3L~.), Thirty-five(35), Thirty- six{36) and Thirty-seven{3?), each in the principal sum of One Thousand Doll~.rs 0 1,000) date.
