• 311 MINUTES L!i PORTE CITY COUPTCIL JUNE 25, 1915, 8:00 P. ~~. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Huff with the following aldermen and City Ufficia3s present: A].d. J. N. Johnson, P. L. Benson, l~. F. Bmith, City Atty. Kiibler, City Secretary Sharp. Minutes mf the last meeting ~~tere read and appr®ved. City Seoy. I~7otion by Johnson, second by Benson, that the premium in the bond amount of X10.00 for bond in favor of City Secretary be paid. Carried. uit ®f ~ The Secretary read a letter from the ~urcau of Census, Waehp.g- orte La ton, requesting the City to supply them with a copy of a large Map scale map of the City, showing all the streets and street names and the present c®rp®rate limits and the built up area beyond the corporate limits. Motion by Johnson, second by Smith, that a map of the City be sent to the Bureau of Census and the City Secreta ry be in- structed to write a letter advising that a map of the area beyond the corporate limits would be available at the La Porte Independent Uch®ol Distric. Carried. Contract- Motion by Smith, sec®nd by Johnson, that the Mayor and the City ~~' ~aek H. Kerber Secretary be authorized t® execute the following contract with Jack H. Kerber for an easements STATE OF TEXAS ~ COUNTY OF HARRIS KNU4~f ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: That I, Jack H. Kerber, hereby grant, sell and convey unto the City of La Porte, Texas, an easement to maintain, operate and repair that certain water line n®w ruruling acr®ss the rear of my pr®perty, described as Lets No. F®ur(4), Five (5} and Six (6) in Block jvo. F®rty-Two (!~2) •f the Town of La Porte, 3n Harris County, Texas, pr®vided, hovrever, it is understood and agreed that no repairs shall be made to the line under or near my improvements located on suoh property and in the event a leak in said water r~i.n or ether defect occurs, necessi- tating repairs, the City will install a water line in the alley and bypass or disconnect that part of the line running across my property and in that event this easement .shall thereupon temminate and both parties shall be released fr®m this agreement, which will thereafter b® null and void and of no further force and effect. Carried Motor Change Motion by Benson, second by Johnson, that #~otorr~:be changed from 2300 Volt motor to 1.~l.~0 Volt provided that the Light Ca. place meter on 1~,0 volt or secondary side and that prospective suppliers of mentor make delisery t© contractor in accord to change of delivery date. Carried. Dump Truck Motion by J®hns®n, second by Smith, that the City purchase the Tires necessary tires needed for dump truck, Carried. Night Letter M®tion by Johnson, sea®nd by Smith, that tha City Attorney be authorized to sex~da might letter to G. H, ri®lder in regard to purchase of lots owned by him in Block 60, La Porte, asking for price of one lot ar all of them. Carried. Budget The Mayor presented the proposed budget for the fiscal year of April 1, 19.5 to March 31, 191. ldotiba by Smith, second by Johnson, that this proposed budget be accepted, filed in the office of the City Secretary for in- speeti®n by the public, that a public hearing be held on July ~~' 23, 19.5 at 8:00 P. bi. at the City Ha.l l at La Porte , Texas and that proper notice of such hearing be published in the official newspaper.
