Neetixg was called to order by Mayor Ruff with the followixg Aldermex and City officials present: Ald. J• N. Johnsox, Geo• F. Norris, T. F. .Smith, J. L. Dunham., City Attorxey Kiibler, City Secretary Sharp. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Extermin~.ting The &fayor asked for the bids on exterminating of the City Hall Bids Building to be opened. Bids were opened and tabulated as follows: Houston Exterminating Co. $500.00, James A. Benson, $187.50. Notion by Dunham, second by Norris, that bid be aw~.rded to James A. Benson on his low bid of X187.50. Carried. ' Correspondexde The Mayor presented letters from A. S. E. Carr, dated Nay 15, 1946 Aux. Air Meld and Robert Kaueh, Brig. C.en., U. S. A, dated Nay 23, 19)x.6 in re- Bard to the Auxiliary Air Fields. These letters were ordered placed on file. Correa-londence The Mayor resented a letter from Federal works Agency, dated lndinerator Nay 2.2, 19.6 advising that the time which was estimated to be required for preparation of plans and specifications for pro- posed incinerator was almost gone and also enolosed necessary forms for preparing Report of Completed Plan Preparation. The ,Jl~h City Engineer was instructed to get up plaxis and specifioations ',.~' ~ and Mayor was instructed to write a letter to the Federal forks Agenoy asking for an estensiom of time for completion of plans and specifications. Affidavids hhe Mayor presented proper affidavits on the burning of the folloaring City of La Porte bonds: City of La ~'E~rte Refunding Bonds numbered Thirty-eight(38), Thirty-nine(39), Forty(40) and Forty- one(41) each in the principal sum of One Thousand Dollard(~1,000) dated October 10, 1934 and due April 10, 1946, one City of La Porte Sewer Funding Bond numberer Eight(8) ix the principal aura of Five Rundred Dollr_rs('~500), dated May 10, 1938 and due April 10, 1946 ~.nd one City of La Porte Refunding Boxd numbered Three(3), in the principal sum of One Thousand vollars(~1,000), dated February 1, 191.,4 and due April 10, 19L~6. Notion by Johnson, second by Dunham, that thmee affidavits be placed on file. Carried. Hamilton Notion by Norris, second by Johnson, ths.t Guy R. Hamilton be Re$umd refunded the amount off' X38.70 due him on his Sewer Liae Exten- sion Deposit as per contract dated September 11, 1940. Carried. Rent of Mower mower~'n Johnson brought up the matter of ranting of the City Motion by Smith, second by Norris, that the City rent the mower at rate of X3.50 per hr• Carried. .~ 375 City Limit Alderman Dunham and City Marshal Thomas brought up the matter of Signs & Circle the Oity Limit signs and-the circle at Five -Points before the at Five Points Council. This matter was discussed but no action taken. The P~~ayor appointed Alder*nax Lunham to contact Commissioner Turrentine in 'regard to ditch on 11th Ave. f rom Main to B and B to Gulley. Thomas Salary , City Marshal Thomas appeared before the council in regard to his salary and was advised that this would be taken u:.der ad- visement. Expenses Motion by Johnson, second by Smith, that X60.00 be allowed for Firemen's expanses for delegate to Firemen's Convention in Wmeo on the Convention 11th, 12th and 13th of June.
