LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL

Meeting was called to order by ~~7ayor Ruff with the following
aldermen and City Officials present: Ald. J. N. Johnson,
T. F. Smith, J. J. Roark, J. L. Dunham, City atty. Kiibler,
City Secy. Sharp.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Motion by i~oark, second by Smith, that the following schedule
of bills in the amount of X700.09 be allowed and ordered paid,
also bills of La Porte Reportr.r 3za the amount of ~1L~.88.

Motion by Johnson, second by Smith, that check in the amount
of "15.00 from B. A. Ferrell for oil lease rental be accepted.

The Mayor presented a letter of resignation from City Engineer
C. H. Kelly effective July 20, lg~.b, included in this letter
were his fees of X75.00 for Sewer Estension in Plock 292, La
Porte and ~31~5.00 for roa8 and street surfacing.

C. H. Kelly, Engineer be accepted and fees of ?5.00 on
Sewer Estension, Block 292 and ~3~5.00 on Road and Street
Surfa.sing be paid.

Pdotion by Johnson, second by Smith, that C. H. Kelly be paid
the balance of fee due him for engineering services on 3 eater

A!Iotion by Johnson, second by Smith, that an ordinance be created
prohibiting the business places from aaeeping trash in the street.
Carried.
Motion by Smith, second by Johnson, that the City have a telephone
installed for the Mayor.
Carried.
Ddotion by Smith,. second by Johnson, that t;~e Secreta.ry be irstructcd
to write a letter bo the State Highway Dept. requesting them to
meet with the St. ~ Alley Committee, at their oonvenience, to
discuss the circle at 5 Points.
Carried.
Motion by Smith, second by Dunham, that the City cut the grass
around the Legion Hall gratis.

Motion by Roark,_second by Smith, that Vtarrant No. 8574 in favor of
Texas & N. 0. R. R. Co. in the amount of X80.64, ZP~'arrant No. 8587
in favor of Tho~atenberg and Tamborello in the amount of X80.64 do
Warrant No. 8588 in favor of Municipal Supply Co. in the amount of
v*~35.87 be ratified.
Carrried.
The Mayor called a special meeting for Friday night, Au~~ust 16th,
'at 8:00 P. M, to meet with representatives from Nedric~- ~ Lindsley
Engineering Firm.,
Motion by Smith, second by Johnson, that the meeting adjourn.
