Special meeting of~ the City Commission was called to order by
Mayor Pfeiffer with the following members and officials present:
Commissioners Jas. S. Crate, Jr., Jas. £. Stewart, City Clerk
J. E. Muldoon and City Atty. Jno. S. Kiibler.
Upon motion by Crate, second by Stewart to give Mayor Pfeiffer the
authority to complete contract with h9r. Cook, representative for
t~.e Sundstrand Accounting Machine pending definite date of delivery
of said machine. Carried.
Motion by Stewart, second by Crate to authorize J. E. D".uldoon, pity
Clerk to eliminate the various funds at the Bank Depository, and to
transfer same to the Interest and Sinking F'u.nd, General Fund and
Tax Fund; the time of suc~i transfer to be made as recommended by
T. B. Trotter, City Auditor. Carried.
Motion by Crate, second by Stewart that J. N. King be authorized to
dig a ditch at the disposal site, parallel to present ditch, four
hundred feet, (4001) long, sixteen feet (16~) at top, twelve feet
(12') at bottom, six feet (6~) deep. He is also to back fill and tamp
present ditch. He is to be paid 200.00, and have the dirt excavated
from said ditch upon approval and acceptance by the Commission.
Carried.
Notion by Crate, second by Stewart that bill from L. E. Erwin in the
amount of X18.00 be paid. Carried.
Motion by Crate, second by Stewart that Isaac Kibodeaux be issued
a permit to use a loud speaker on School ground during current soft
ball season. Carried.
Motion by Crate, second by Stetiart to have Humble Oil and Ref~-ning
Company install two (2) pumps, one for gasoline and one for diesel
fuel oil, also to install a lube tank. Pumps and tank are to be
installed on City property near City Garage, so the City can purchase
wholesale. Carried.
t,7otion by Stewart, second by Crate that the City consummate trade
with the L.a Porte Independent School District to transfer traffic
light owned by City to the School District for school bus.
Carried.
PIotion by Crate, second by Stewart that the City hire out to indi-
fiduals for use inside of City limits when available, the City
~rader an,~ the City mower with operator. Rate for use shall be
x;:5.00 per hour for the grader and X3.00 per hour for the mower.
Carried.
m otion 'by Crate, second by Stewart that the City reimburse the
Baptist Church for laying 15" the across alley between Broadway
and First on C Street when same is completed. Carried.

?Motion by Stewart, second by Crate for the City to furnish oil
and gasoline for car owned by Raleigh Erwiil, and being used bq
Erwin in connection with City Bus2ness.
A4otion by Stewart, second by Crate that Pdrs. Ruth Huddleston be
appotnt~d Assistant City Clerk, with all the duties and powers
of Tax Assessor and Collector, at a salary of 125.00 per month,
and further that the City C lerk be. authorized t o employ any
additional clerical help. Carried.
Motion by Crate, second. by Stewart that the meeting adjourn.
Carried.
